Many people have tried and succeeded to go for 90 days without PMO. Some have even gone for 1 year or several years. I think the most difficult part of nofap is during the first couple of weeks. After that it becomes a breeze

My record so far is 20 days approximately but I'm pretty sure I can beat it this time. 1 week is great for a start, so your next target should be 2 weeks, and after that 3, etc. If you can go an entire month without PMO you can probably also go 3 months.

It's hard for me to imagine being able to do something like not touching my (p) for 90days+ but considering I was fine without pmo till age 12 or 13 this habit has to break.

Longest record that I can remember since starting nofap, 28 days. Been trying for about 6 months now, just joined the community after being drained from relapse.

Wow you guys are doing great hey. This is probably my 1000th attempt to quit PMO but I feel like I can do it this time.

It motivates me to see you guys going weeks without PMO, my next goal it to go 14 days. Wish me luck;)

I made it close to 90 days at one point. I will honestly say it was great but the urge to return to my bad habit present with intensity. The thing is- when you go so long, you become forgetful of the negatives of PMO. You only remember the "good." That's a dangerous spot and why NoFap Forums are so helpful.

89 days today but it has been a journey. My brain is sharper, more positive and focused. There were points where I was leaning towards porn again but around day 50 my mind became a porn filter lol. PORN IS NOT AN OPTION PERIOD!!!!. I have hurt too long because of this. Every time the urge to watch porn comes around, just say in your mind PORN IS NOT AN OPTION!!!! This has worked for me.My battle is far from over but we can all learn and control this.

I'd be careful with such generalities, I've read too many posts here of ppl who had gotten to 2 weeks, 1 month, 40 days, even much more, and relapsed. When one thinks they have beaten it is the most dangerous time because the sense of danger fades. And as someone else pointed out, the negatives are not as acute and don't seem so dangerous. The rationalizations begin, and so on. Addiction to porn is not unlike other addictions. This is why they say in AA "I am an alcoholic." Even someone who has been sober for 20 years identifies himself as an alcohol: to maintain vigilance.

I kicked porn cold turkey 3 years ago, but have just recently gone masturbation free. My urges to masturbate subsided greatly when I told myself: I do not masturbate. Period. End of story. Non-negotiable. I am not a masturbator. That is what worked for me, now 23 days masturbation free, longest of my life, except for that really long streak shortly after birth.

Hi Lee, I last PMOed almost 8 months ago. Before that, for the prior approximate 14 months, I tried to quit it completely, but failed. I was able in that time to largely break the P from the MO, meaning I still watched P (big mistake) and I would still MO--though not much, maybe 3 times a month. Then, about 8 months ago, I found the Wilson TED talk, and after that things got very clear as to what was going on in my head. At this point I do not really fear relapsing; I don't feel PMOing again is likely. I am very careful about not watching P, and in those 8 months I have completely abstained from MOing or High Speed Internet Porn. The reality is that in our society sex sells, so I have seen hypersexualized imagery. That triggers me less and less, but I have to be careful and not indulge it. I will say that what Wilson says about HSIP is really interesting in light of a recent experience I had. I went out in the country where they only had dial up. Now that I have heard Wilson speak on HSIP, I totally get why dial up would be almost impossible to become addicted to. It takes five minutes to download just written words; forget downloading a vid or even pics.

@ freedomwarrior: "except for that really long streak after birth". Dude, I like it, but I don't know if that counts. ;)

    Peace.

No, probably does not really count, but is that not what our real goal is all about? Beating our very first streak? Check out the goal on the counter wyocal has in his signature and tell me he is not right on track for his goal.

  16. I went 49 days without porn or masturbation, but recently relapsed. Good luck on your journey!

Yes freedom, damn straight. That is why my counter is off. I quit counting some ago because my goal is to totally quit, as in forever.

    Peace.
