Hi guys, I'm writing here in search of help.

I've quit PMO 20 days ago and even tho I'm not having any urges since 10 days I have to say I'm not feeling very good lately.

In the past 5 days I've been having the symptoms of what I think is anxiety: I'm not in a good mood, sometimes feeling like my forhead is hot even tho I've no fever, got accelerated heartbeat and sometimes dizziness.

I'm not totally peacefull with myself since I got some troubles going on with my university status, oh and it all started the day after me and my gf got ourselves a kitten, finally a couple days earlier I migh have eaten a not fully cooked egg (I'm only writing this to give you guys a full picture of the possible causes).

I'm starting to get worried since symtomps are not getting worse but not even going away.

    What should I do?

    Thanks for your help.

    Cheers.

That is very normal and it should be expected. You will experience withdrawal symptoms from time to time for about two years since thefts time you used porn. After two years of clean time these will become less and less. Good luck

The worst will probably be 3 months (90 days) from last use. Anything after that is purely psychological.

So you guys are telling me that this 5 days of bad physical condition are normal and don't depend merely on my brain? Is there anything I can do to make this condition going away? Or is it a "only time can heal" sort of situation?

    Thanks for your support!

The worse thing you can do is panic or try to get rid of the feeling. That will only lead to relapse. It's best to accept the feelings and not try to understand or deal with them. You can then do constructive things like sports, running, socialising, helping other people: anything that gets you out of your thinking and focuses you on helping others is probably the best. Keep telling yourself that "this too shall pass". Good luck

Fear, anxiety, panic and emotional imbalance shall attack you until your brain is rewired to staying without pmo. Stay strong. Nothing is impossible.

Thank you so much for the support, guys.

Knowing the cause is halfway to healing, I will not relapse, I will get out from this hell where in the past 13 years I've buried my brain.

A big, big hug to you all.

    Cheers!

The anxiety will probably come and go for throughout your reboot like everyone else said. It is important to not let that consume you, just live your life and smile.
An important thing to watch out for, The urges will come back before long, and you will ignore them, and then they will subside again. This will continue for a while, but eventually they will be easy to ignore.

The egg is for sure not the cause because you would be exhaling your food into the toilet by now. Food poisoning can take effect in less than ten minutes. It could be an allergy to kittens causing hypertension but that is also unlikely. Most likely this is a basic anxiety issue. To fix it, we nee to understand anxiety. Anxiety is produced whenever the brain perceives a loss, and given the attachment of addiction and the fact that we are 'giving that up it is to be expected that you perceive a certain level of anxiety. With that in mind, there are a few natural exercises you can do that will reduce your anxiety and bring you back into a logical state of mind in your present moment. The best is probably to regulate your breathing. If you are like most people you breath with your shoulders and/or chest. This is not the natural form of breathing. There is a nerve that runs from your neck to your groin called the Vegus nerve. When you breath with your shoulders or chest this nerve doesn't get moved. when you breath with your belly it does, which is important because the movement of the Vagus nerve is also one of the primary signs to your brain that you are relaxed. By laying/sitting in a bed or chair you can consciously focus on your breathing and maintain the breathing through your belly (your shoulders and chest should barely move if at all). This activates the Vegus nerve and tricks your brain into being more relaxed. Do this and if you need more help PM me! Also, make sure you like people who help you like @BBX555 and @programer so that they get a direct feedback that their advice is helping. It really helps people in the forum become better at giving advice by seeing what works for people!

@Icyweb yeah, I'll stay strong. Things can only get better from this stage, and I don't wanna go through this again and again.

@Isvara yours is such a precious suggestion!
I've already practiced that way of breathing during gym classes but I didn't know it could be applied to RL issues aswell.

Thanks to your support, guys, after a whole week things are starting to get better.. the fake fever is gone and so is that "warming up" sensation.. hearthbeat frequency seems normal, it's just that sometimes I can really feel it beating (dunno if I'm being clear :p)

    Will keep you posted

    Cheers and hugs!
