I deleted all my stuff, but I keep collecting more. How can I stop?

My urges just take over and even if I don't jerk off to it, I just end up finding more pictures, videos, gifs, etc. and saving them.

Have you tried asking the King of the Universe, in the Name of His son Jesus, to help you stop? Not a joke. Try for a week. Ask in humility, demanding nothing. The answer you get might not be what you expect.

  3. I used to do the same thing. Have you considered getting rid of your computer / smart phone? That would eliminate the temptation. I know it sounds extreme. If you were on a deserted island, you wouldn’t have internet. And when the source dries up, so does the addiction. I went without internet for a whole year. That was 13 years ago and haven’t viewed porn since! :). During that year, if I needed to get on the internet, I had to walk down to the library and use a public computer. It made me be very intentional about my computer use. And I wasn’t going to look for porn on a public computer. That’s what did the trick for me. It’s not impossible to quit, sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures.

I think deleting works for some people, but not for others. I think for some people, deleting a collection can trigger feelings of need, or loss, or stress, and trigger a drive to rebuild the collection.
For me it's worked better to "leave and forget" instead of deleting. What I mean is, just leave your porn collection where it is, and don't touch it. You can always then reassure yourself that those pictures and videos are still there, you've lost nothing and you've no need to rebuild anything. Over time if you leave it alone, you'll forget about your collection and it'll be sort of wiped from your brain, but without triggering a feeling of sudden loss or stress.

That can work, but be careful you don’t go back to it. That was my problem, I kept going back to my collection. Even deleted it several times over the years, but just rebuilt it again. I have finally deleted it for good, but I needed other ways to cope with stuff than going to porn. Fortunately I had dancing, a physical activity. That helped a lot.

That is the strategy I’m going for at the moment. I don’t want to deal with the sense of loss just as I start my first 24hrs with NoFap. At the moment, I’m moving all the porn from my phone, tablet, desktop, and cloud services to one place to isolate it. It’s gonna take a while but I’m making good progress.

    I agree.
Paradoxically, when I "left and forgot", my various porn accounts and logins, it helped me to never enter them again. vs when I was deleting I ended up hoarding more files and subscribe again to these sites.

Reminds me when I quit chewing tobacco. It worked better when I didnt "use up", my last box. Instead I let it lie on my desk, half empty, visible all the time. Thats just my experience.

Although I think if someone struggles and cannot be sober for a week even , then it might be better to have blockers and delete porn files. Not sure.
