I believe Porn needs to be restricted, as in we need a way to stop people under the age of 18 from accessing any kind of pornographic content that's on the internet. I would prefer to say Porn should not be made available to the public. I found an article talking about a way Europe is going to try to tackle this issue and I think its a great step forward. (google "Europe Porn Passports")

Porn as we know it, is a very addictive piece of media that a lot of young boys are exposed too at a young age. Being exposed to porn at this age is a massive problem because they're going through puberty and all that. I think these "Porn Passports" would serve as a great deterrent and help our youth stay away from that stuff.
Although, along with making this Porn Passports a reality I think porn must also be paid for. Other addictions like Drugs and Alcohol have one thing that separates them from Porn, and that's the purchasing of it. porn addiction is so common place because its free and easily accessible. if we make a use of an ID and Money a necessary step in wanting to view pornography, It would certainly lessen the amount of people who are young watching porn. If Europe succeeds with the Porn Passport plan, It would hopefully lead to many other countries doing a similar thing. Porn already has an abundance of different sites to buy porn from, so that stuff is already established, we just need to get rid of all free pornsites.

Porn is an attack on masculinity. People allow porn then they attack men also. This is a very difficult time for young men

I looked up the "porn passports" France being the country introducing it, it's interesting because at the height of my addiction I would have been really against there being any controls on accessing porn for anyone, but having seen the damage porn does to your brain and your sexual functioning I really don't care if it was even outlawed altogether, I think it would be a great thing.

I feel like there will still be ways around that, for example if its drivers license number you have to upload to prove your age, young kids could always end up stealing it from their parents to log in or stealing whatever form this passport will be. Still a good step though in treating porn for what it is : a dangerous drug that needs to be highly regulated.

A while ago, before I knew how damaging porn can be to our brain and nervous system—PIED (Porn–Induced Erectile Dysfunction), PIPE (Porn–Induced Premature Ejaculation), PIA (Porn–Induced Anorgasmia) for women, etc, etc—I would have said, "who cares if horny teenagers watch some porn, let them have fun, it's harmless"! I might have even argued that it could be even beneficial, because it would make them more sexually liberal when they do grow up into adults, which would be positive change compared to the toxicity of sexually ashamed and repressive culture we used to live in 100 years ago.
That all might have been true in the world were porn is indeed harmless, but we know it's not, and in fact it's especially damaging to the young brain that still has not fully developed. So now that I am aware of it I fully support the idea that porn should be regulated. There is no reason a 16 year old should watch porn.

I definitely would not support fully banning of porn for everyone though, because I have a moral issue with it—I think it's immoral and unethical for government to tell two or more consenting adults what they should do with their body and mind; the right to your body autonomy (which for me also includes a choice of what goes into your mind through your senses) should be recognized as a fundamental human right! Porn is unhealthy, but so is smoking, alcohol and fast food, and I would argue those things are way more unhealthy than porn. So if these people in the government really care about the health of the population then ban those things first, maybe then I would take their intentions more seriously, meanwhile get outta here with your condescending prudeness—what right some old farts who are twice my age, in the government, have to tell me what I can and can not consume. And I would apply the same moral philosophy to hard drugs like cocaine, heroin, etc—consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever they want with their bodies, as long as they are not hurting anybody else in the process.
The key here is consent though, and there can not really be full consent if people are not educated about the potential risks, so there should be informed consent. And it's the job of governments to make sure that this sexual health education is provided to the public, so then adults can make their own informed decisions. And it's also the duty of the government to provide supportive resources for people; people tend to turn to porn and drugs as an escape when their life is shit, that's why socialistic policies, such as affordable mental healthcare, are very important—if a person is happy and has their basic needs met they will not try to medicate themselves with a dangerous "substance" (assuming they are properly informed on the dangers of it) such as porn.

I don't want porn banned but I'd like to see the ease of obtaining free porn restricted.

Torrent sites, Free porn sites, Twitter.

I don't think it'd be such a massive issue if it was harder to get, Like back in the mid/Late 90's where you had to buy from shops/sites.

But lets be honest that's an impossible task.

I think this misunderstands the nature of the slippery slope. That level of porn availability in the 90s is what led us to here. Remember the crusty old reactionaries who told us it was a slippery slope, and how we laughed at them for being so old-fashioned? Well, they were right. It was a slippery slope, and now society is hurtling as fast as it can into the abyss. We can't recover from that just by going a little bit back up the slope, from where we'll only end up here again in another thirty years. Something's got to give.

But I feel that restricting pornography to at least not allow children/those under the age of 18 would help a lot. since someone like me who discovered porn at the early age of 8 or so. The years and years of watching porn built an attachment to porn which is unhealthy and a proper restriction would benefit alot of children over the world.

LINE, a messaging application used in Japan and South Korea, is require to verify age.
In order for a user's age to be verified on LINE, the user's information must be on file with the mobile phone service provider.
Age verification can only be performed if the user is clearly over 18 years old, as the phone number is linked to the LINE account.
The purpose of age verification is to prevent children under the age of 18 from exchanging IDs and connecting as friends with people with whom they haven't actually met in person.
This prevents children from exchanging messages with strangers and being sexually exploited.
If you are using a smartphone with a low-cost SIM card that does not require you to verify your age, you will not be able to use the verification service.
This means that even if you are an adult, you will not be able to become friends with people you have never met in person on the LINE application, but you can still use the LINE application without any problems.
Although inconvenient for adults using cheap SIMs, requiring identification when using a smartphone (technically, a SIM card) should help verify age and prevent minors from viewing pornography.

I'm not saying that wouldn't be a good first step. But I only started using properly at about 17, and I am very deep in addiction anyway. I don't think the addictive nature is only for those who started younger. And I think the other social harms around promoting immoral behaviour are universal too.
