Nice! Sounds like you have a good system planned out.
Yep, the autophagy is really what motivates me to do it not just for weight loss but also health. I do feel good when fasting, and not just because I am losing weight but actually have more energy and want to do things; on eating days the laziness definitely gets up.
After I lose weight I plan to fast for the rest of my life, probably on a similar schedule as you.
Let's keep it up friend!

it's just psychological . In reality, the opposite happens. When you eat, insulin levels spike, which can lead to feelings of laziness. The food you just ate goes through the digestion process first and the energy is not immediately available for use. Therefore, it is not accurate to believe that eating leads to an instant boost in energy...
( I ve been exercising during a fasting state for almost 5 years now ) even when I m not fasting that day..I workout first in the morning then I eat...

Ok, it's the end of the day two of eating, starting another water fast tomorrow! Gonna make it to 3 days this time, I'm determined—let's go! :emoji_triumph:

    1 day water fast completed!
Did not make it to 3 days again, broke my fast 35h in. I seem to be stuck at one day. Which is not bad, considering to where I was, but I am definitely using food as a way to get that dopamine hit that porn can not give me anymore. I was not even hungry today, my brain just craved some entertainment. O well, it is what it is. I do notice that second day becomes easier and easier every day I reach it, so that's good.

No, I would not say that I binge on the days I do eat, I just eat normally (well, as far as volume and frequency is concerned anyway), but if I tend to eat a lot of junk food on the days I brake my fast due to relapse to food addiction (cause the whole reason for relapse is my brain craving dopamine, so naturally it will want junk for the biggest kick), but if I brake that fast due to schedule, and not because I give in, then I don't tend to eat as much junk food. But when I eat normally I still tend to eat way too many calories (hence why I'm fat), cause otherwise I just don't feel full and constantly stay hungry. That is unless I consciously am on some type of diet and limit my calories, in which case I have decent control. But I hate doing that cause it always leaves me hungry, that's why I prefer fasting (either extended water fasting or simply OMAD intermittent fasting) because only with regular fasting my hunger tends to go away.
But while physical hunger might be gone on longer fasts I still have the psychological craving for dopamine buzz of the food and emotional sedation of it (that's why I call it food addiction, cause it's psychological), so when I reboot from this addiction with long and frequent enough extended water fasts I will just be able to cruise on OMAD, or 20/4, fasting regimen and maintain my weight easily. But for that to work I need to reboot my brain from this food addiction first.

I admire your perseverance here! I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm sure your body will thank you, especially in it's later years for being at a healthy weight. Marathon and not a sprint and all that though :)

You've almost inspired me to try another fast - but heck 16/8 is enough of a challenge for me sometimes!

Broke it at 60 hours. Still no 3 day fast though, but o well, we will get them next time lol.
The second day was just as easy as the first day was during my last fast. And the first day was just cruising, wasn't even a factor. I'm just happy it's getting easier; it feels like I am slowly but surely training my brain to tolerate longer fasts. :)

Never mind, ended up eating today. Postponing the fast till tomorrow. O well, at least it's pretty late in the day so it's gonna be OMAD.

    @MindfulWarrior

y’all are hardcore good for you fasting like that. Must feel really cleansed and enlightened afterwards.

what’re your reasons for fasting? I might do a 16 hour fast sometimes but 24 hours would be like once in a while

@MindfulWarrior Good job on 48 hours so far, keep going friend!

Yea, I can relate to trying to fast with a desperate attitude and it not working as well. I think that's why I've been so struggling with it lately; when I first started I had very positive attitude and I was excited abut getting healthy, but over the months it turned into this mindset where I wanted to almost abusively force my mind and body into submission. I have not been journaling about this, but I've been working on changing the mindset quietly behind the scenes. I don't have a particular method for it, I'm just kind of trying to do in intuitively. This fast has been pretty easy so far, haven't felt like that in a while.

I'm 60+ hours into it at the moment of posting this—let's get it!

@ZenYogi My reasons are weight loss, physical health and using fasting as a boost to help with addictions (food/PMO/internet).

I do feel very good about myself after the fast, but the best feeling is deep into the fast, not so deep that you feel super depleted and tired but not too early either. I think at about day 3 is where it's at, when keto sets in the mind becomes more clear and calm for me.

You should try it friend, it's very healthy. Three day extended water fast detoxifies you through autophagy, lowers inflammation, resets your immune system, etc, etc. But yea, if you are around 11% body fat fasting for weight loss would make no sense, but I still think it can be very healthy way to cleanse physically, and of course will have psychological/spiritual benefits also.

But I guess you are a bodybuilder type, you guys are afraid of going catabolic like snowman are afraid to get warm, hehe. :p
