1 year to freedom

For a little background on my situation; I am getting out of the navy next April the 21st. My plan is to have the whole Bible read by the time I get out, and to also be 1 year clean from PMO. I invite anyone wanting to join me to do so. Let us become free!

 

This journey will not be easy; even as I write, I am experiencing strong urges in my crotch. We have to live our lives one day at a time, handle the cravings and stay focused on our goal.

That’s truly amazing and inspiring! Many say it’s unrealistic, but I know that if I take things one day at a time I will be just fine.

I’m doing quite well right now. I will not pretend my motivation is high or that I feel amazing; but I feel as if I am slowly being renewed, even purified. Today is day 5 of my Bible reading, I find the pace I am going at to be refreshing and doable. I am 5 days clean of PMO.

 

Sheesh, day eight already. My wisdom teeth were removed yesterday; I cannot eat much, smoke, or drink. I am craving many things today and experiencing minor withdrawals from the tobacco. My bible readings are going well; I missed a chapter last night but read it this morning instead.

 

We must live life one day at a time. Each day has numerous stressors and things to worry about; focus on the here and now. I believe many people fail to break free from addictions because they become overwhelmed looking at the finish line. When you begin to think how long you still have left and how agonizing it will be, you end up talking yourself out of even trying; so focus on one day at a time, because whether you like it or not, time will pass with or without you.
