Naltrexone is a medication primarily used for weaning people off alcohol and hard drug dependency. However, there have been studies showing the effectiveness with internet addiction as well.
I just got Naltrexone. Used it for 2 days and got very exhausted. So much to the point that I had a hard time getting through the day. These side effects from what I've heard can clear up within a few days to around the 2 weeks I believe.
    Anyone tried Naltrexone?
Did you have side effects, and more importantly, did it help with your urges for using pornography?

Ya I've done a ton of replacement behaviors but they are always negative - such as overdoing it on junk food like your mentioned, as well as smoking cigarettes, and excessive caffeine use. My mindset is, "well it's not as bad a porn." While that's true, it always leads me back to porn cause I feel like shit afterwards, and I crave more pleasure.
Medication free is for sure the ideal way to go but I feel like I've been doing the same shit over and over again (for longer than I can remember). Always new plans, alway fail.
Got naltrexone from a psychiatrist. My therapist actually recommended it as an option. I did a little research and decided to try it. But the fatigue was pretty horrible. I'm going to try again at some point when I have more downtime, but wanted to hear if anyone else has tried Naltrexone.

Little chance of getting hooked as it makes you feel like bad...

    this is so funny lolll

let us know how it goes OP. tbh Id do almost anything to cut the addiction. if there was proof stabbing myself could do it, id honestly try. i hate this pmo addiction more than anything in the world and if i knew a drug that would help id ask my doctor.

Well I probably won't go through with it at this point. Tried it again last night, and pretty fucking tired. Was able to get through work fine though. Side effects on meds generally do wear off after using them for awhile/letting your body adjust. That being said I'm not going to be taking it right now though. Tempting to push through and just be tired until I get used to the meds but I'm throwing in the towel now. Might try it again somewhere down the road though.

I think you switched from one addiction to another...

So, I took 3 pills of a non-addictive medication, and now I am addicted to it. Interesting thought process. Thank you for your insight.

It CAN lead to an addiction, so be careful

It can probably lead to dependence. I doubt it can lead to addiction.

Dependence is part of the addiction

Maybe, but there's more to addiction than dependence.

Dependence is milder version of addiction
