twenty three days out of a thousand. Learn about after a hundred days.

    I am hopefully on my way to a thousand days. Last time, I went up to day one hundred fifty one. After day one hundred, or perhaps around one hundred twenty I just feel better. Everything seems better, and I will tell you the main obstacle. First, before that, its important that energy is conserved in the beginning. It may be controversial, but if you avoid television, video games, you tube, and cable you will have a great deal of extra energy. In turn, you will find it easier to make it to day one hundred. After that you may forget your why. Thus, remember why you are here after day one hundred twenty or, at least read others stories who are there(manage stress as well). I will try very hard and look for concepts this time. I hope this message helps, and that you make it to your goal!

    Ambitious Goal to say.
    Congratulations you made it over the mark of 150, that is just awesome!
    You are already on the winning edge, one thing i would say is that 1000 days is very much. I personally just reached 30 and upgraded my goal tonight to 60.

    Maybe you go for 200 first, so after passing day 150 you will have only 50 days left.
    Then when you made that you do 500, 750 and 1000 to stay in closer contact to your progress.

    But that is just a hint relating to my personal experience.
    Your signature was really motivating for me right now :)
    Anyway i wish you a clear focus and that you make yours what you dream of.

    I'll try to keep stress down as well as go for 1000, and I agree since last time I didn't have a goal. I want to make it to past day 200! Realistically 1000 days in a span of a life is not a lot, but I will be so proud of my future self if I can stay on hold! Optimistic Pessimism, thinking ahead to what your mistakes might be as you might prevent them. Basically, I'm hoping this works but planning for worst case scenario.

    Think of it that way,
    Imagine your future self made it to day 1000 (My very proponed congratulations at this point, you are a machine).
    would it make a difference for you then if you would have achieved 1000 days by slowly growing your goal with the intention to reach them anyway at some point but stay motivated while doing so.
    Or does it have to be started straight away from 0 to 1000, to make it kind of epic launch-win, but knowing that the journey will often leave you with no close goal in eyesight for years.

    Wouldn't you agree that the first option may more likely lead you to that point in the future where you really reached 1000 days in a row ? And would it matter how you achieved them, if it increases your chances to achieve them ?

    Lets face it, what we all need is one thing: Motivation.
    We need to see our progress, the little green counter growing when ever we visit nofap. The feeling of being close to a goal. The small inner celebration when upgrading to a higher number of days we want to reach.
    You will not really have any of these helpers for 3 years!

    Im am just trying to talk you into setting smaller goals, because i am of the opinion that it will make you actually reach 1000 more likely.
    Do 100, then 200, then 300. Small steps brought men to the moon. Large expectations led them into wars and crises :D
    But see it just as an advice, from somebody who eventually is really much like you and has the same problems :)

    Hey, I agree with you. To play devil's advocate with myself. If I make it to day 200 then change my counter to 300, and 400.... This would be a great way to make it to 1000. However, I believe Hard goals with specific instructions. Such as, make it to day 1000 without messing up and being careful are also effective. Also, since I have made it to day 150 I will admit 200 doesn't seem hard enough. Thus, I think both ways are suitable, but my real aim is 6th months as described on a ted talk. I feel after 6 months reboot is reached from my experience. Consequently, the real challenge is after the elusive, surreptitious pinnacle. Reach that and your on the long road of continued abstinence and that may be the beauty of nofap.
