    Dear FapAstronauts,

I'm 36 years old from Massachusetts. I've been wanking for the past 23 years and have tried many times to stop but did not have a compelling reason to do so. Why stop something when its a fool-proof mechanism to relieve stress, anxiety, lets you explore fantasies and lets you pleasure at will! the best part of it - Its FREE.

I've been an introvert for many years, was a good student and have done well professionally. PMO has helped me manage stressful situations, concentrate at studies and work and has been my best friend. I do not have any good friends, don't feel much emotion and do not care for relationships. Been married for 8 years, have sex with my wife may be once in a couple of months, and of course my marriage can fall apart any day. Apart from this, I am uncomfortable talking to women and I feel that my ability to concentrate and grasp has started to slide.

Even though PMO has been my best mate, I am going to have to let it go and live in the "real world" and do the best for myself and my family.

Welcome to this community. Ask if you need any help from this community. And good luck to journey. I wish to be your town one-day , at least to visit Harvard and MIT. If I was your city, I would never thought about doing PMO, my all energy that wasted behind PMO would be for getting into Harvard or MIT(kidding sort of). Do not break your marriage, rather try to improve yourself that would help to cope up many bitter things.
    Good Luck.

On my 12th day... Feel irritable, shitty.... will hang on.. just read a success story and feel sad on what I missed out in my early years due to PMO. I better not miss my future.. Have lots of things to experience, do and achieve.

Don't feel sad man, that's ok. The great things that you have red are going to happen to you too! You are starting a journey, and journeys are hard, if not, people won't make movies about them ;P

Thanks for the kind words Exo!

    On a broader note,
It is remarkable that one word of encouragement goes a long way to help overcome a difficult situation. A word from a person who cares is so much more powerful than reading tons on online anti-porn material. Extrapolating it to relationships, I've broken them probably due to PMO - just don't want to blame it for the heck of it when the problem lies with my personality. However, I've taken things for granted its time for me to value relationships!

PMO'ed last night and Today morning. On the positive side went 15 days without PMO and used softcore porn for PMO.

    Day #2 after my relapse

    Day 11 of my vacation.
My wife's away with my kid. Had thoughts if I really wanted to be with my wife. Didn't have any strong inclinations towards PMO.

Not yet Exo. Have trust issues. Nevertheless, I'm not in this for her but to make myself better

    Day #3 and #4

    Not too many thoughts.
Now that I've taken a new job, I've associated any change/stress with PMO -- it helped me manage stressful situations. So, it will be challenging to make the transition without PMO...

    Day #7
Had a wet dream last night but no pornogreaphic images. Day 6 was shitty - was feeling extremely negative, having thoughts of being persecuted by people around me but feel much better today. Was it due to the wet dream last night? Probably ... hmmm ... most likely, the release always resets the mind and that is what happened to me.

    Day #12
Came back from my vacation 4 days ago and been busy with work. Cuddling with my wife has kept me satiated.
I see that I have a choice not watch porn. Had some negative thoughts yesterday but will workout to shake them off.
