I'm going through a phase of career development and shifting out of homelessness.

I noticed as I began to get help for other areas in my life, old habits and issues came into play. I began to self-sabotage, experience depression, participate in watching porn and fantasizing. Many real life interruptions came, such as old family member with their problems.

When I believed that I was at the cusp of breakthrough, these frustration led to a deep cycle of pornography.

I sought out help in many ways, but never with a community!

Thank you, and those were the two elements I missed in the past.

 

Could you all give me the pro's and con's of having male or female accountability partners?

And what about age range?

I've had mentors before professionally, and I acquired a lot of wisdom from people of different age groups and backgrounds. But at times, really connected with people who had something in common. I notice that many men are very helpful, and desire to help others---yet, I've never had an AP nor mentor in this area of my life.

What are the pros and cons?

 

Just relapsed, or setback. One day in thoughts, the other in porn.

Need help. To analyze it. Here are a few things that happened prior.

• I stayed up all night studying for a test with little sleep.
• I took the test and worked and was totally exhausted.
• I had food poisoning, and was upset that it interfered with my plans.
• I'm trying to straighten my life out and get on my feet, and I'm frustrated.
• I still haven't chose and AP, for the reasons in the post above.
• I haven't deeply read my Bible.
• I haven't been reviewing my recovering materials or attending meetings.

How to remedy this from happening again and again?

 

Thanks for the encouragement. I will work on stress management. I was thinking about a similar gender, but I don't have a lot of the baggage of someone my age. Many people think I'm younger, and I tend to gravitate to older mentors. I just wanted to know if it's common to have the opposite gender as an AP, since several men requested to be one.
