My boyfriend is right now. He's in week 2. He said he's not even really thinking about it much so he doesn't understand why he's depressed and anxious.
I'm guessing it's the lack of endorphins.

Yeah, I have experienced that. Not just anxiety though, but some depression as well. However, I did find that it starts going away after a week or so.

  4. Yea it's a withdrawal process your body has to go through. I still suffer from it on some days. Life goes on.

  6. I had a lot of mood swings early on. I'd be up then down then not feel anything. It settled for me eventually.

Anxiety is a fairly common symptom of withdrawal in general. Its (basically) because your brain has become dependent on the chemical cocktail you get from orgasm/masturbation. Your reward center is all messed up, and your brain is craving the release you get from PMO. As said above, it'll pass within a certain period of time (depends usually on how long/how often you engaged in PMO). The temptation, however, can last alot longer. Having suffered from anxiety recently from withdrawing I can tell you it is rough, but you can get through it.

yes, but the reason therefore are underlying emotional scars. Fears, doubts, feeling of lonelineness.

PMO is a way to "cope" with them: While you are in dream world, the anxiety is gone, but once you come back to real world, it is here again.
Now stay in real world 24/7, and you are also living with anxiety 24/7.

However, only this gives you the possibilty to work on it.
Abstinence is the first important step. Seal up all your escape routines. That ramps the anxiety up and you are confronted with it.

The second step is to work on it and to find ways how to live inspite of the anxiety. How to relax, how to live for meaningful goals.

Totally same for me. Almost every day, between 15:00 and 19:00, I become a little tired and I have strong emotions of depression / fear / loneliness.
It's hard and sometimes unbearable, but I know that it is only a pattern. It is only a memory, stored during childhood. So I go with it. And once I go out for a workout, or when I get deep sleep, then it's gone. Mind cleared ;)

Honestly when I was going through the first two weeks I had mood changes like a woman on her period. Your brain is sensitive atm. Heck even having coffee made me feel like I was gonna explode with nervousness. If you don't have underlying issues like snow white was saying, you should even out in time. But it is important to do positive stuff with your life. Helps rewire your brain to be a better person. Also helps with your day to day mood.

Of course, totally. Your brain does not get the usual dosis of sedatives (porn), so of course, now all kind of emotions come to surface. anxiety, aggression, impatience, ... Everything which you have suppressed for a long time now comes up.

But this gives yoiu the change to learn to cope with these emotions. One solution is porn ... But another solution is to be a true master of yourself.

Also, you can see emotions as source of power. With aggressions, you can destroy, but you can also build !

Side note: Today is christmas. It is a well-known fact that Police has a lot to do during christmas!

Thanks snow, how long did it take you start feeling calmer after nofap?

  15. Yes one day I'd be hulking out wanting to yell at people the next day teary. This will pass, I'm not having the emotional flip flops any more. I've heard there can be some more around 120. I will find out soon enough. I'll let you know. I started settling around day 40. I still could mood swing on a dime but I didn't find it lasting long after day 40 for me. rmv
