I have done some research lately on the effects of pornography on the brain, because ive been noticing over time that I have a problem keeping an erection, genital numbness and climaxing...I was under the impression that looking at sexual material would increase your reproductive system performance, but its completely opposite!! All this time i have slowly been jerking my way to a limp dick...has anybody else had this problem??? this is one of the reasons I am done with looking at any type of sexual material on the computer.

Sure thing, I came here to quit this habit for many reasons, but curing ED was one of the best motivating forces to keep going with this program. I didn't have severe ED, but enough for it to be a problem. My ED was becoming more frequent and it was extremely frustrating. It only takes a short-time to cure ED once you stop looking at porn.

It's exactly why I joined this forum. Very same situation. One would never suspect that! The search for novelty caused my brain to feel less aroused while performing the act with the missus, even if we always love each other and that I always enjoy making out with her. My brain just found the act "vanilla" and was looking for extras. She never wanted to watch P with me, saying that If one needs it, that proves that one need more than what the spouse offers. She never responded to my fetishes either, saying that dressing up is good for Halloween only. In the end I lose, I'm the one experiencing the immense frustration and early signs of ED. I also spend money on toys/accessories/clothing items that never seen use.

I now hope that if I reboot and "behave", the act will feel better for me and her, no more PIED effects, and that she will become more opened to variety if I dont PMO for hours all by myself. She finally told me that she feels that P (models, variety, kinks) and medication (blue pills) are unfair competitors to the wives.

Same thing that happened to me, can't get hard anymore with a real girl. I have been abusing porn for 5 years, never thought that it could have negative influences. Now that I have the opportunities to actually have sex with a partner, my body won't play along. It seems like my brain and my body replaced the urge to have sex with the urge to masturbate, like it thinks I reproduce by doing it. It feels like a mental illness. This is my motivation to do the challenge.

Sorry to say this, but your wife needs to spice up your love life. Vanilla sex can be dull after awhile, especially if you have the same routine for years. I'm married and my wife was my fetish dream for many years. Now that we are older she is cooling off and not enjoying the role-playing as much, but I'm quick to reminder that's what I like and if I'm to stay happy she needs to compromise once in a while and get kinky with me. She changed, I didn't therefore I don't have a problem reminding her that it's not fair to change and expect me to like it.
My attraction to porn has never been to look at the vanilla stuff, I've always liked the fetish stuff. That's why it's so hard to quit, porn is the best place for me to find what I've loved since my earliest memories. That being said, porn also kills everything. As you so well said "The search for novelty caused my brain to feel less aroused." For me this even included looking at porn, I was getting jaded to the whole experience and experiencing ED as a bonus to the addiction.
Now, without porn I'm more intimate with my wife. Sex feels better. There will be plenty of time for us to rekindle our kinky passions. Porn was removing intimacy from me and women don't respond well to a man who is distant and bored with them.

Wow it sounds like a lot of people have this problem...I have been to the doctors twice in the last year because i thought my testosterone was low...I think what happens the most is that we get this perfect fantasy in our heads, and if the video or image doesnt fit this perfect fantasy then you cant even get hard!! The only time i would get half-a-boner was for 3 seconds when i would ejaculate just about getting friction burn from yanking so fast....##PORNISDONE...i won

Thankfully I found this site on a quest to cure my ED. What I originally thought was age (45) was actually my frequent PMO. Like others have said I began to use more outlandish fetish porn, types of which I feel ashamed to mention here. But I was PMO'ing to things I never even knew about a year ago! Fast forward several months and I am PMO free for 8 weeks and my PIED is almost gone. I had trouble maintaining just once in the last several weeks since I quit. I do have frequent sex/intercourse w my gf every week. She and I talk openly about my condition. I aim to please her w or w/o my erections. I've become quite the expert at pleasuring her orally she says so at least I got that going for me, lol. Like others have mentioned if I run across provocative material and get aroused sometimes the next day I'll have to work harder to keep it up. I think the brain tries to find the quickest and easiest route to arousal and climax. The caveman instinct is to sow your seeds as much and quickly and as much as possible. Foreplay isn't really necessary for men if u merely want to make babies. So PMO does the job so efficiently that when you want to make passionate love the brain says, wwhhaaattt!! It's up to us to be strong and expect more from ourselves. We need to want to please our partners because the sexual experience can be an incredible thing if we make it a joint effort and not just a solo event. I'm not against MO but after a full reset or reboot and it's in moderation.

I was writing about a lot of this last June when I found NoFap. My particular deviant tendecies also started in pre-porn adolescence. I too indulged them with my ex. I did over 114 days hard mode. When I started poking around on the slippery slope, I found that they hadn't gone away at all, and came rushing back.
I think they would be more productive at learning how to live with them with a partner. I'm not dating at all right now, on my second good run. This time I'm in flatline for real. I know that chores and projects are getting done at my house as I rebuild my life. Hopefully they are also taking place in my brain this time.

I would like to know the amount of time that it took for someone after stopping PMO to regain a healthy erection with a female

If you plan on indulging your fetishes with a future partner, just make sure you are clear with the person right away. You might find the perfect fit, or a person opened-minded and curious. When you are with the same person for a long time and your better half doesn't share you appetite for the fetish, you are stuck with a sub-optimal situation.

I'm my case, my fetishes are somewhat soft and not shocking really, but I'm still hoping for a better understanding from the spouse. Hopefully my efforts to get off the PMO will inspire her, as the "competition" will be gone (Hand+P material).
