While I do use material related to seducing women - don't like the word pickup - RSD is not my cup of thee. I prefer David DeAngelo about how to become a better and more desirable man.

I've been watching their videos for a while (mainly "The truth about success" 1 to 4 by Tyler, and many videos of Julien).
Honestly, all this is pretty much interesting and useless at the same time.

Let me sum it up :
    - decide what you want
    - go and get it
    - don't give up

Everything else is just sugar coating an nerd culture.
Most of the tips given are based on the idea that you can understand how it works (especially women) and get good at it.
But that's what nerds who don't have a life do.
And in fact, if you read "The Game", and learn about those guys, they were just spineless when they started, and they did it because they didn't have a life.

What the "naturals" do is just getting an interesting life, and everything else comes along with it.
And what brings fapstronauts together is that they are sick of their lives (I include myself in it).
And getting a real life is quite easy, if you dedicate yourself to it, because it's all emotional problems that we have at the core.
Address those issues, and your life will be completely transformed.

That's what is interesting in Neil Strauss latest book, "The Truth".
He finally got out of this nonsense, after having spent years as a pickup artist, through an emotional therapy.
I think he's far ahead of Tyler and Julien.

You POV resonantes with mine on some levels - but I think you are a bit harsh. Take f.x. the second clip - it's done by the RSD guys - it exists "thanks" to them (for lack of a better way of putting it) - and it actually IS quite inspirational - the guys they interview are talking about relevant stuff in my opinion. And Tyler - he's not my favorite cup of tea - but I think it's fair to say that he's a good guy with good ideas.

    UPDATE:

Started watching the first clip - and I gotta admit he actually seems to degenerate ...

I agree with you about not bending over backwards for a woman, I use RSD's mental boost in rationale to help me. He has some good rationales about life and experiences, so I think it can be useful. I dont agree with the part of going to nightclubs to pick up drunk women to bone with. I use RSD in my interactions as a filter to understand whats happening

You cant judge a persons character by watching 15 mins of footage. They talk plently outside the realm of pickup. They promote that you better yourself, to become the master of your life. And this pick up stuff is a byproduct of it. I'm not saying use everything they say, I'm simply noticing when I see something that could be of value. An interesting perspective about how to become unstifled

The point is that not all of thier content is complete bullshit though right? some of it holds value? I'm not promoting anyone become a pick up artist. I think many people do nofap to reboot thier lives, to gain attraction from women, to meet and embrace them instead of using porn. Some of the stuff he says is valuable for self esteem.

PU culture can contain solid piece of advice if you are completely an idiot in that area, but overall it's bullshit especially tyler, julien is kinda fine but still very shallow. The greatest impact on me was "The daygame blueprint" by andy yosha and sasha daygame look them up. There's still some bullshit in there but they are generally more "moralisitic"

The point is that their stuff can be helpful at some point in your life, but you have to get over it. THere are many things beyond, and all the PUA thing is about getting women, but says nothing about the kind of women you'll get...

Yea for them its the act of having sex that's the goal. Not the type of woman they meet or what relation they have to women. Us nofappers know sex isn't everything, when you have intercourse parts of both of your souls merge. So having many partners means you are connected to the souls of many women. Nobody knows how that can weigh a man down, or if it infact liberates him

For me I've neglected this side of me, I've been into the arts and education . So its important for me to understand these normal things

  13. It's funny. I am a big fan of Tyler and I respect the hell out of what these guys have managed to accomplish. However, I have often thought this about them, in that they often seem to self-validate and feel the need to prove something. I love when Tyler hangs out with Elliot Hulse because Elliot is on another level of alpha and seems to break down this façade that Tyler often uses to mask a deep-rooted lack of core confidence. For instance, watch from 16.30 in the second video you posted...Elliot makes him visibly uncomfortable and sees past the bullshit Tyler is bashing on about. What's worse is you can see Elliot getting pissed with his answers and then Tyler decides to cut the clip before his beta tendencies are really shown.

Basically, these guys are not naturally confident; they often need to "warm up" and "open everyone" to trigger an acquired situational confidence that they have nurtured.

I don't like or understand pick-up artists. I've been listening to the Black/Beige Philip Show for more than a year now and for the shorts period of time I've been able to consistently apply the philosophy, it worked out great. I strongly recommend checking them out. If you have some kind of anger against woman (because of rejection or other issues) the Black Philip Show is great, then the Beige Philip Show will help you deconstruct a lot of the things you do wrong or without understanding them. You won't understand everything at the first try, it will have to grow on you for weeks or months and you will have to go out there and experiment by yourself.

I particularly like the motto of the Beige Philip show : "be the better version of yourself". I don't wanna spend an hour now doing something without asking myself if it goes in the interest of becoming the best version of myself possible.
