Is this normal? It's either this nofap challenge or I'm just really stressedcin general.

Yes, any number of feelings are possible when we get off of an addiction, which has poisoned our system. The good thing is that feelings are transitory -- these will pass along. Just don't think any depressive mood is permanent - they come and go and come and go. Underneath, the addict in you is just trying to disturb you enough and agitate you so that you give into addiction again - you'll just be depressed for real afterward, if you give in -- and that doesn't go away. Thus, hang in there. You are actually rewiring your brain not to fall for these addiction tactics. Once the addiction and the brain realize this won't work to stumble you, the addict will back off (but on to something else perhaps), and your brain will learn that the response to these feelings is not PMO.

    Best wishes!

When I started nofap I developed palpitation and my anxiety rocketed up! When you MO do u feel ok or still feel like that ? I have been super depressed too. It is normal to feel much worse when we give up stuff we are addicted too! Look at the drug addicts, they go through hell to get better!

It is all apart of the process. You may have stumbled into pornography but you will not just stumble out. To beat this addiction it takes a real committed effort. It is not something you can beat alone. You need community and relationship to assist in rewiring your brain.

But it can be done and you have the ability to do it.

  5. While fighting out of an addiction you cannot trust your thoughts or your feelings: they will constantly lead you back to your addiction like a dog to his vomit. You have to let these thoughts and feelings happen and not act on them. You can fight them with anger, hatred, denial, your memories of disgust, your mileage will vary: but that method has an expiration date with a relapse notice. But you can become simply aware of them. Just observe them do not justify, wallow, indulge, and most definitely do not act on them. Become aware of them as something that is not you. (news flash: you are not your thoughts and feelings. You can choose to stop identifying with them and not be a slave to them)
