A Small Bit of Motivation

  1. Muhammad Ali once said: "I don't count my sit-ups. I only start counting when it starts hurting. That is when I start counting, because then it really counts. That's what makes you a champion."

Something to think about in terms of your journey to freedom. If you average a streak of 5-6 days, don't start counting until you start feeling the pain, and the real strain of your brain rewiring. Why? Because if you make it 4 days, and then start feeling the heat, that is truly when the battle begins, my friend. It doesn't matter the number of days you go without relapse. You can go 180 days and then relapse. It's the number of times you push through the pain, and the number of days it takes to press on until your next breakthrough. Keep pushing on. Keep going. Freedom will come. But you better be ready when it's time to pack up and leave your place of slavery, because you may find it to be a difficult journey. But eventually you'll reach that Promised Land.

Interesting. Thank you. I might use this in the future.

  3. I'm not necessarily saying that you should or shouldn't use this method – I'm just pointing out two things: Your journey begins where your comfort ends (at least for a little while,) and the pain begins. You won't always feel this pain, or discomfort. But you will in the journey out of it!
