    Yes. You can.

I don't know about others. But I love this Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan. His acting is just above average (according to many) but his background is inspiring.

    Now plz imagine this.

You're 15 years old. Your family is lower middle class where you don't have enough food so you add water to increase the quantity of food. Your father is a social activist. But one day your father dies. You're 15 and without father.

It's only a couple months and your mother's health degrades as well. She dies after 5 months of your father's death. You don't have any parents at the age of 15.

Now you need to be independent, get a family of your own. But you are sickly depressed. You go to another city to find a job as an actor and you sleep on the footpath at night.

    ----------

Now tell me this man. Are you better off than this person? Are you?

    Well, obviously you are.

    ____

He's now 50 years old and is worth $600 billion. That too in Indian Cinema where the money is not as good as Hollywood. He is richer than Tom Cruise, Adam Sandler and other great actors of the west.

He's the second richest entertainer in the WORLD. Just stop for a second and feel the power of that.

    Now can you do it?

    It's just a decision.

It WILL happen when YOU decide you WILL do it.

    Don't ask. Decide.

    Now some practical advice.

    Your CNS is wrecked.

Start doing meditation 15mins everyday for the next 30 days. See the effects. Keep it simple.

Habits are just pathways. They can be overgrown when you cultivate other ways. People turn a lot worse situations around than yours or mine. All the time. Junkies, for example. The biggest problem is not some damage in the system but the perception that it's not so bad. And that you might get away with things.
You can do this but do you really want to? It's easiest if you feel that you need to or must. Because it is a bit harder than one is inclined to think...

Obviously there is a damage. But it's not permanent. If you do the exercise/meditation, you'll restore it back to normal. There are guys here who say they have been "brought up on porn". So 12 years ain't that big a time. I've seen many people here with 8-10 year long indulgence in porn. And it was because they didn't know it is an actual addiction. Like cocaine/heroine.

Good that you're taking action. I will advise going to classes so that you don't miss. Because it will be hard to do it everyday on your own. So register with a yoga studio or something so that you don't miss a day.

Hey guy, it's been 25+ years for me and many other guys in the 40+ forum. We never had web sites like NoFap in our days, and it serves as a final welcomed piece in the NoFap fight, but not the only piece and maybe not even the most important piece, but for me an essential piece that has made the rest of my recovery machine work. One missing screw, after all, can make even the most sophisticated machine break down, right?

Yes, it's possible to recover from MO - which has been more my issue than even P, too. For me, P is external, so it's relatively easy to avoid (I don't use filters, for instance), but the urge to MO is carried internally in my body (there's no escaping that), which makes it a vicious addiction for me. P just comes along for the ride to enhance MO for me.

However, I have now arrived at a point in recovery and my life where I know with some strong certainty and inner intuition that I have now beaten this addiction in my life. I am just watching the days tick on while I enjoy at last each and every day of being PMO free.

You can get there, too. You body and mind are not permanently damaged (no CNS damage either); you're just addicted to a vice. You can exercise the opposite virtues with work and retrain your mind and body. Best wishes!
