I am not sure how hypnotherapy works but you can try whatever works for you.

I started with self-hypnosis around 2 years ago, and since ~6 months, I am doing it daily.

    It worked absolute wonders.

    • Wonder #1: Up to age 43, I was always living under stress; very often felt a kind of unbearable fear and belly tightness. - That is completely gone! Never felt it again since 6 months!
    • Wonder #2: also, up to age 43, I had almost daily a short period of depression - like an hour or so. That is also completely gone! Like blown away!
Overall, my live is now cleaned up and in order. There is a kind of constant "impetus" which is driving my projects. I have overview over my projects, no debts, no open timelines. I am self-emplyoed, and I have finally reached a state where I can follow my own projects, and where I have now real fully trust in myself.

I see self-hypnosis now as a daily routine, like showering an teeth brushing - in fact, it is a brushing of my soul.

So I can only recommend it.

It is an ongoing process. It takes a while until you feel the effects. It is important that you just start somewhere, and then do it daily. 10 minutes per day are enough.

So, if I get this right... I set a reboot date and share my experience with everyone. Is that what nofap is all about?

Basically you can begin with Autogenic Training (AT), which is in fact self-hypnosis (SH).

Let me add that the porn addiction very often has an underlying root - very common are depressions and fear.
When you work on these roots, the addiction will disappear.

SH means to get into a state of very deep relaxation. It is a wonderful floating state, and it will greatly help to feel free and overcome fears and depressions.

Can you feel fear in your body? Like sweating, or a tightness in your belly? If yes, then you can work on such symptoms with AT/SH.
You can let yourself feel warmness floating in your belly, which is a tremendous tool. For me, this alone took away my fears.

Also, when you are relaxed, you can add auto-suggestions. These are positive sentences or visions of your goals.
It is very important that you always use positive suggestions. Like "I feel wonderfully free", and not "I have no fear".
Or see yourself working on a project you want to do, or studying for an examen, and so on.

It is very simple, and ten minutes per day already make a big difference. It is important to do it as a daily routine. A good timing is in the morning in bed, or in the evening, directly before sleep. It can happen that you sleep away, that's totally ok.

Of course, you can exercise anywhere, even in the train - just be aware that you don't fall into a deep sleep then ;)
