Is it PERMANENT ???

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Apr 17, 2016.

  1. Hello there,

I'm a 16 y/o who recently joined the website, going for 90days rebooting..

I have a simple question that will really encourage me in my process :

So, i want to know are the damages to my body due to overmasturbation permanent?

I'm feeling always tired, my penis is weak/sleepy, headaches, buzzing in ears, and my brain looks stuck i can't think anymore

Once i recovered, will my brain get healthy again, feel happy, confortable, smart as i was?

Are all those sympthomes going to go or they will be permanent?

    Thanks!!

I think it is misleading to provide a link to another website with the words: "here's a post explaining the stages of NoFap". As the individual that wrote that states...
Anyway, @itstimetofight, it's good to know that you are taking up the 90-day NoFap challenge, especially at your age.
    • Are the damages to my body due to over masturbation permanent? No. The damage is in two distinct places. The first is your penis. If you usually grip your penis very tight when you masturbate (death grip) or you thrust into your mattress or rub it on the carpet etc (prone masturbation) then there can be tissue damage to your penis. Skin injuries can leave a scar, but most physical injuries will sort themselves out when you stop rubbing it.

    • Once I recovered, will my brain get healthy again, feel happy, comfortable, smart as I was? The other area of damage is the brain - especially so when you watch porn as a child and/or an adolescent. This is because your brain is still forming. This is completely reversible by stopping all masturbation and exposure to pornography.

    • Are all those symptoms going to go or they will be permanent? Yes - "feeling always tired, my penis is weak/sleepy, headaches, buzzing in ears, and my brain looks stuck I can't think anymore" - all of that will totally go!

Although I respect your keen observation to my link, I'd dropped the link because it is (to me, the OP, and the people who contributed to the post) the closest first-person observation, that I've found similar to my own experiences, to what experiencing NoFap feels like.

Is the post misleading, sure - to someone that likes to have hard substance, something to sink their teeth into. But, as Darwin said, it's not the strongest or smartest, it's the one who's willing to adapt to the situation that makes it in the end. I'd rather give @itstimetofight a link to a post, made by NoFappers who've gone through the experience enough to create a theoretical chart of what's expected to happen, then to just give support and let him go through the motions without him not knowing what's going on.
