I EARNED THIS POST, I WORKED FOR THIS

Discussion in 'Success Stories' started by Mohamed Hariri, Apr 19, 2016.

  1. My name is Mohamed Hariri, I earned this post while I know I am well past a month, I do not count the days anymore, I truly believe that counting the days plays factor do not count. I will never go back to this bad habit, I never thought I would make it this far, but I did. I realized I was never addicted, it was just a bad habit. However, I did get a flip phone so I would not be able to do it and I do not even own a computer. I will never go back to that old life again. Has my life changed completely it is hard to say, but everyday its changing and I love it. I am honestly on my way to becoming successful and I see it and I believe it. Most of you guys have to quit now, just kill the addiction and get your life back. There is more to life than watching porn. Its time to Man Up, its just came to me that sitting in front of a computer and looking at people having sex is disgusting, think about if were in a room while people were having sex, you will most likely leave. The time is Now, get rid of this addiction and start to appreciate yourself and then the women will start to appreciate you. My key to success is have goals write them down and visualize them every single day. Wake up earlier, read books and workout, trust me, YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE, YOU CAN STILL CHANGE.

I love how you say that you do not count the days anymore...I am learning that was where my problem was/is. We just need to go on with our lives not consumed with the idea of achieving 1 day or 2 weeks or however long you have gone, but rather we simply are just trying to better ourselves.

Congrats bro for your high results! Beware of the fact that you say that you were not addicted but just a bad habit...try to stay focus. Last summer I've also reached 30 days and stop counting and felt that I'm cured and soon after I've felt back on old addictions. I'm 26 and have been doing this since 11 so I think 30 days are not enough to cancell or rewire this habit. I don't know for how long do you fight this thing but counting days and keeping a track of it is important. I suppose if you are here means that you, as me, was desperate one day and sayed stop. Don't let you mind fool you and think that everything is passed, that you are completely cured. Feel 90% cured and 10% always on the alert.

    Best regards

I think that you're onto something about 30 days not being enough because according to the book on habits that I have been reading, every habit has a cue (trigger), routine, and reward. It seems like the OP's triggers were related to the internet/devices that delivered the P. So in his case, he got rid of the main triggers, but there may be other triggers that he may be unaware of, which is what you tried to warn him about. For every habit there is a trigger followed by a routine (in this case P to M to O), then the reward (dopamine). That means, to really be free of your triggers you need to remove them altogether, or change the routine to overwrite the habit while keeping the old trigger and rewards. The book also mentions that all your habits never really go away, so changing the routines of them seems more effective than abstaining from the triggers. But since the goal is to abstain from PMO altogether, then removing the triggers or creating new habits in their place works too. I'm still reading the book, so take this info with a grain of salt, but that's the gist of it.

  8. Thank you guys for the comments I really appreciate it, yes this journey is not easy, but I have the end goal in the mind and that is the big one 365 days. I can I will I must. Keep fighting this fight, we are meant to be men not boys. None of my friends understand this concept, they still do it. I am doing my best to get them off it, but I can only hope they see the change in me, when I do accomplish 60 days, 90 days, 120, 150, 180, 210 etc. I am waking up earlier, 5:30am I want this bad. I want to be able to go chase my dreams not sit in front of a computer for hours and waste time. There is more out there in the world than just sitting in front of a screen. Get Up and Get Moving.
