What happens when rebooted? how do you know you've rebooted?

I imagine 90 days isn't going to work for everyone. It isn't a magical number, right?

So: do you no longer crave P? What if you see it (inadvertently)? Does it throw you off, or is the reboot like a cure?

90 days is the default standard but for some people it may take longer depending how long you have been into this porn addiction thingamajig. Some say 120 days and to some extreme I read and heard a year or two.

How would you know you have rebooted? Well once you are able to connect with a real human being with genuine physical intimacy where you don't have PIED. You gain sensitivity back and able to orgasm without premature anything. You don't think about porn anymore and very neutral to it.

There were some people in the Success Stories forum who said that they were on 100 odd days and were still facing porn cravings. 90 days is not a magic number but a good number for your brain to change its plasticity to normal. I am sure the urges and cravings will still be there but they would be mild and if you keep yourself busy enough, you can enjoy life and sex.

If you aim to reach a certain number of days for things to be easy, you will be disappointed. A big part of it is rewiring your brain, but an equally big part is adjusting your outlook on life, and especially sex/sexuality. When viewing porn, all you were really concerned about was satisfying your short term desires, not your own emotional well being, and not the well being of anyone else. The most important thing to do is adjust your views to not be selfish. Don't think less of yourself, but think of yourself less. Don't get caught up in the idea of things suddenly becoming easy after a certain number of days. Just focus on each day, and know that things will get better each day as you work to do better for other people and for yourself.

In my humble opinion, reaching 90 days is probably a milestone (as it is reaching 30 days for most of us). It is a step on the road to recovery.

To be honest, it is a bit of a fetish that "90 days" thing. As if a switch will change and everything will be different auto-magically. You will be able to have meaningless one-night stands with no issues, or watch entire hours of porn without losing your edge and superpowers. What is even worse is the notion that you won't have to make any effort once you reach the goal. Not gonna happen. If you start this road of NoFap, your goal must be until death takes you from your streak.

  6. I do remember I still had cravings even at 140 days free of PMO. Yet for me I believe the recovery can take longer for me and think it could take at least one year of PMO will result in the end of craving.

Were those cravings as strong as you would get during the first month of reboot? What day did you relapse and what made you relapse?

Someone who is rebooted would no longer worry about whether they were rebooted. They would have no anxiety toward P whatsoever. And perhaps in the process of their reboot they may have learned to overcome anxiety altogether, for that is too often the root cause of our addictions.

The objective number does not really matter too much. Some may go 30 days and be rebooted, and some may go for 300 days and still not be rebooted. Of course, talk is cheap. It will help to have some proof in the pudding.

When you overcome anxiety, your energy flows outward to its natural 'object' as it should. It is this that woman notice. There is no objective measurement of this. It is a qualitative as opposed to a quantitative difference, and will differ from person to person.
