I agree with this article as well. To me recovery is not about abstinence but changing the way that we think. In some way all of us have resorted to watching porn for a reason. This reason can be so hard to pinpoint and may take a long time to figure out. For me this reason is rooted in my childhood and I have been going to therapy to figure it out.

My belief system is all screwy and my opinion of myself has been rewired in a negative way and I have also experienced trauma in my life. These are examples of the "reasons" why I turned to porn as an escape. I'm sure there are more but by knowing these reasons when I think about P or relapse I can say to myself that there is a reason why I am craving and I can ask myself, what is really going on? Why am I really craving. By being compassionate with myself I can truly recover. Also faith is a big one, I feel like letting go and allowing ourselves to not have control or at least believe that to have control over everything is a fallacy.
