    hey fellas

I've been trying to quit PMO for a year now and never got past 19 days. I'm about to give up because it doesnt matter how hard I try, at some point the urge will take over. So I was thinking of a different approach. Some of my friends wanted to quit porn and they were more succesful (one of m didnt watch porn since september last year). The difference between him and me is that he faps, but without porn. Me on the other hand, when I break I use porn and fap to it.

So I was wondering.. what is the real problem? fapping or watching porn? I think that if you allow yourself to fap (with a certain limit ofc) it will be way easier to cut porn out of your life. Just because you can release that urge. And it doesn't release that insane amount of dopamine if you don't use porn or does it?

I bet this discussion has been going on for a long time but I just wanna know the facts because I feel like I can't ever break the addiction like this.

I'm also wondering some of this. From what I have heard, I think fapping is fine, but too much is bad. Too much fapping puts hormone levels out of whack and causes you to associate pleasure with hand movement.

Well, it comes down to whether you want to settle for the norm, or pursue the ideal, and whether you want to realize your masculine potential...pursuing the ideal is a masculine trait.

right. But if fapping without porn is an addiction that makes me want to fap more and more I could understand that nofap > pornfree. But is it realistic to break such a natural urge such as the urge to fap (ejaculate), or is it even realistic to never fap?

And according to you, pursuing the ideal is to never fap and never watch porn? To me this sounds like a nearly impossible goal

Yes, it is a heroic challenge! You need to make moral choices in life. Do you want to pursue the best, the good, the unified and true? Do you want to listen to your manly instincts, and take charge of your life?

It looks impossible? Unrealistic? Only from your present perspective... and all the nay-sayers'. Once you take up the challenge, and build resistance and resilience, you will surprise yourself. Forget the 'norm' and the 'average' of the over-washed masses. Nofappers are a natural aristocracy!

I believe so yes and I understand what you mean. Thing is, I'm affraid that if I keep going like this I'll be busy with nofap for years and honestly I don't want all the years to go by while i'm trying to reach the (maybe) unreachable when I can also just break the bad habit of watching porn.

I know porn is bad, I know fapping too much is bad. But what about fapping to release the urge to watch porn? Worth it?

Nope, you have to break the back of your addiction. Why else did you end up here. You are here to substitute short term pleasure/ long term pain for short term pain/ long term pleasure. Good luck friend!

M is not natural, sex is..
    I'm on day 18..
No EXXAGERATION, I've had 0 urges.. I'm an athlete so I workout 5 hrs a day,, It's the reason for this.. I have trainers and structure to my training, but that doesn't mean u need that to get the most out of exercise, nor do u have to do 5 hrs, but realize there is no such thing as to much exercise and working out with out dripping sweat, that's not exercise

    Hey philsjoe,

When I was about your age, I went nine months with no sexual activity at all. I was married and nothing was happening there. I can tell you that it is not harmful to abstain from MO. The problem with just MO is that you may not get the same amount of sensation during actual sex. So, PIED could still be a result. Don't know if that is a problem or not. I guess most of all I would encourage you to find a growth pattern that moves you away for being a "slave" to your body. I know that it may feel that way sometimes, but impulse control is a sign of adulthood. You are not in the habit of throwing tantrums if you don't get your way do you? So, if you have matured to be patient and be diligent in study, can you image your life if you didn't let your hormones dictate your behavior?

Faping with get you the Chaser effect. Then you'll fap again. Then the day you'll be bored of faping without porn (sounds and images), you risk relapsing...

    From the nofap glossary:
Chaser Effect: The super-charged desire to masturbate that sometimes hits 1-3 days after sexual acts. Especially powerful early on in a reboot.

Also, the goal is to get out of the house, meet a real person and possibly get involved into a relationship, that hopefully will last.
Too much porn= possible erectile dysfunction problems ahead, and lack of stimulation from real sex versus porn watching.
Too much masturbation= Getting tired, fluctuating testosterone levels, possible "deathgrip" issues where your hand will feel better and will make your orgasm, but the girl's V wont grip you enough, with might get you delayed ejaculation issues and all kinds of other loss of sensitivity.

Death Grip: The tight-fisted grip on the penis many men develop by masturbating. Because it is much more constricted than the grip of an actual vagina, the death grip overstimulates the penis, reduces pleasure in the long run, and can make it difficult or impossible to orgasm with a woman.

Remember, the goal is real sex with a partner, not dying alone.

You're probably fighting against your triggers if you're still relapsing. I think the most determining factor of relapse is how strong your resolve is to change your life. I remember reading somewhere that if you make the decision to stop today, you don't have to question it any longer because you already decided. If all else fails, stay away from the source - your computer. If you need to use internet, use someone else's computer or use a public one. The only alternative to get more P is to go to an adult store or fantasize. You can definitely succeed if you make some sacrifices, especially if you start from the source of your problem.

I like how you are in touch with your masculinity and how you cherish it.
