    Hello everyone.

As the Title says Is it possible to get to a point where one views Porn or porn subs without getting aroused?

I know it's probably a silly question but I have to ask it for my own reasons as what I want to with my life involves it. If not well then I just have to rethink things...

    Thank you for understanding.

I was watching a video ( comedy, not porn ) in which 2 girls appeared with their asses showing ( with panties on ).

I can't say i got an instant boner and wanted to PMO, but i definetly felt "wierd". Since I'm on the NoFapChallenge i skipped that part right away.

It really depends on the person. It's like some people watch horror movies and are okay with that. Others say it's gross or that are scared. But i don't think you can compare horror movies to porn, because porn relates to the "reproduction" instinct, and part of your brain thinks " Well there is a good chance of you creating off spring, go and PMO please".

So maybe ( this is a BIG maybe ) if you watch A LOT of it, you get indifferent to porn ?

Or you get completly hooked up and end up here again :(

But i think you will always be aroused when watching it, but at those moments, you'll choose if you want to explore it ( PMO ) or ignore it.

Why would you want to contribute to an industry that is destructive for the people who make it and the people that consume it? Curious, mate.

Not a silly question, but here is my straight answer. NO. Way too freakin dangerous to relapse. Porn (SEX) catters to one of our basic instincts. Reproduction. Our primitive brain deals with that...If you manage to get away from the porn "traction beam" that forces you within its reach, and you are free, you won't want to go back.

Your questions sounds like the addict that wants to hear that he'll still be able to indulge a little later...its par of the rebooting process...you better mourn the death of porn in your life, instead of keeping its ashes on your dresser.
Why would you watch porn if you knew it wasn't arousing you? What is that? Like drinking alcohol-free beer?
If you are not attracted to it, you wont spend valuable time of your life on it.

I mean, like a smoker that just quit, he'll stay away from smokers. After a while, he (or she) will be able to tolerate the smell and maybe hang-out with smokers. But a taft will most likely lead to relapse. Dont' play daredevil and wish that one day you'll be able to watch again.

We know the damages porn does to brain chemical balance and thoughts. Say bye bye to porn and don't look back, its got nothing good to offer you. Not only it hurts us, our relationships and our self-esteem, it leaves a lot of actors/actresses in peril.

    My 2 cents...

I just found this link, and although a religious person made the list (Im a little bit of an agnostic/atheist I think), but the listing is info only. I don't argue or comment on the religious message below the chart, not my business....

  6. You cannot. Listen to me and listen carefully, most of us cannot watch porn and not PMO okay. You have to get stopping watching porn for good or else you will just end up right back where you started, ok @Typo.

It is the Porn that warps our minds and make us the misogynist self-hating introverts we have become.

The Orgasm follows because we are sexually aroused.

The Masturbation is the bridge to Orgasm because we are alone.

Why would you want to watch porn in the first place? Whether you masturbate and orgasm is irrelevant.

Do you think the core issue is masturbating to porn or porn itself?

That's the core issue that comes to mind when reading your question.

    Go for it.

  10. No. I even tried this in the past and it caused me to relapse. The amount of dopamine porn gives us is unaturally high and leave us feeling like crap the next day. I can't stress this enough, don't watch porn.

Not that it is impossible. I'm sure if you offered me 500 bucks per event I could do it.

But the plan is about as workable as holding your AA meetings in a bar...and your NA meeting in a crack house.

Thank you everyone for your input guys! It means a lot to me and it has given me something to think about :]

Well,I guess its backstory time... I was avoiding typing out a lengthy post but it may actually make my question more understandable so... whatthehell .I'll do my best to shorten it...

Firstly, Before I begin I wan't to say that I am utterly disgusted by the porn Industry. It baffles me how people could subject themselves to such actions almost every single day for the majority of their lives. The human body should not be subjected to the things we see in the pornos. I know people may not have any other way of making money but they has to be some other way than becoming a porn star. This stupid industry has caused most of if not all of us to suffer immensely due to the nature of what it does to us :(

Alright, So you may be wondering how now I would wan't to watch Porn considering what I've just said. Well the porn I am speaking about is not technically Porn. It depends on the viewer.

There are Different forms of Porn and What I am speaking about is technically Porn but not porn at the same time...

    It is erotic literature

specifically comics. Japanese and Korean comics (Manga and Manhwa)

I cannot express how much I enjoy reading Manga. (I've unintentionally did so here but its a pretty long post if you wish to read it ) As I was saying I love reading manga but the manga I enjoy and spend reading is Seinen, Josei and Hentai (Basically it's comics that contain a lot of adult features such as sex, nudity) These comic genres have just the most amazing art and stories from my point of view

So as you may expect, I can't even read 2or3 Chapters without getting aroused. and I end up relapsing. I want to get to a point where I can freely read the respective comics without getting aroused which is kind of a problem as I kind of read comics to distract me from how bad my life kinda is :/

    As for this part.

So I'm planning to become a Mangaka (comic book Author/Artist) myself. Not professionally but as a hobby and what I want to do is to try to rewrite most if not all of these stories without all the Adult content (A censored version if I may )but nevertheless the version I make must still evoke the same effect that you get when reading the original comic so that Any person would be able to read it and feel the same passion, the same captivation that A person felt while reading a particular comic because I've read a few comics that are so beautiful , so fascinating, compelling and definitely had a powerful impact on my life and is a definite must-read but I can't suggest them to anyone because those same comics. I don't want want to cause anyone to relapse like I have done in the past

If I were to do this I would do it All this of course with the Author's permission and If I don't get permission I was thinking I could create original work that would still be riveting as the ones from shoujo and Josei but has little/no porn. And to do this I believe I would have to study a lot of the existing comics (Look at porn) so I know how to properly create my comic without it containing porn so that It doesn't get classified into those genres I stated before.I've found out the hard way that even pure porn comics have got something that I could learn from eg the art style or character development (The Irony is my most favourite comic In the whole world is a purely porn comic :p )

So I can't avoid looking at porn and I was wondering if there was any way to look at erotic Images/text without getting aroused but It seems I'll just have to take T22's advice and just bite the bullet and just go for it. Even If I have to Pmo everyday because I believe that by creating these sort of comics, I can help people who are in a similar situation to mine and help them recover if not quit their addiction to comic based porn, Heck even prevent the addiction from developing in the first place by writing comics with such powerful stories! If all my effort makes their recovery 0.0001% easier, or prevents just 1 person from developing a Porn addiction (It;s how I developed mine ) I'll be extremely happy :]

Thank you all for reading and for your input!

I just realized that's not going to work out so well... That was the addict inside of me speaking :/ , I can't pmo everyday, That would be horrible. Though there has to be some sort of common ground here. There always Is!

But what could it be I wonder... I'll spend time thinking about it before I make any rash decisions :)

Think about this. You're on this forum in the first place because you're a PMO addict who's trying to get better. As addicts, our addicted brains will come up with all kinds of rationalisations as to why we should keep doing what we're doing, and this sounds like another one. Porn substitutes can be just as destructive for a P-addict as porn itself. If you really want to get clean, you need to cut them out too.

    @Typo,

I'm a little too old to know about that manga stuff, it wasn't out there then. But I did read a lot of novels that has sexual content in it. I must have read all of them, there was about 150-200 books in the series. That was indeed P-sub at the time, and I'm talking in the mid-80's. I was fapping to it too.

So whatever floats your boat, if this manga triggers you, just officially consider this as a TRIGGER. Your choice to keep reading, I have issue with that, but it depends of your goal.
I made the personal choice to put all my efforts in real sex, so I don't get more issues with the mental images and artificial sources of sexual stimulation.

@Typo Concerning this, I believe it is possible, however you have to differentiate what you are reading from the idea of sex.

I love the video game Senran Kagura. To be completely honest it's got an awesome story, and the gameplay is wicked fast with tons of combos. It reminds me of DMC, but with 100% fem. Characters. However, there are tons of bikini/mild nudity in the game. My body does not get aroused by these pictures at all simply because I am more focused on the gameplay on my screen. I've separated the "porn" from the reason I am playing.

This does not mean, one should deliberately go looking for trouble. I'm a hardcore gamer and have been for most of my life. I know what does and doesn't trigger me. The game doesn't, simply because I go to a different world. One far away from this when I play. HOWEVER, if I were to go looking for images for these girls, I would find tons of things that would arouse me simply because of what the images on the INTERNET suggest.

Long story short...learn your triggers and avoid them. At all costs. The video game isn't a trigger for me. It's simply entertainment. I avoid TV shows for that reason. No interaction and just watching lets my idle hands to go where they don't belong. I can understand why this might unsettle or upset people, however, let me be clear. I DO NOT SUPPORT THE PORN INDUSTRY. I DO NOT BUY THE GAMES FOR THE OBJECTIFICATION OF WOMEN. The reason I play through Senran Kagura is because I like the idea of a strong female protagonist and enjoy the style of the art.

@Typo One final note. As much as you might want to continue reading, I would avoid them, for quite a while. You know you have a weakness there. Don't give in! Simply let it die for now and rekindle the flame when you've learned how to control your urges.
