Noticing some real mental and physical changes

    I haven't been around here in a long while, but I've been rebooting for around 7 months now, with plenty of relapses. On average I think I fapped once/month during this time, although I'm not sure, because I haven't been too thorough with counting days.

    Some months I did fap more than once, but overall, my addiction is way better contained than last Fall, when I fapped to porn everyday, almost without exception.

    However, I wanted to share some new benefits that I've noticed lately. I hope they serve as motivation for anyone struggling with PMO crap:
    • My social anxiety is way better: I'm not at all scared of people any more. I notice that every time after a relapse I'm more nervous around people, and it's harder to connect with anyone. Now I feel hapy when I'm with people, and I actively seek out social interaction. In the past I was usually quiet around people, and avoided their company, because I didn't feel like a proper person, or equal with other people. Now I realize that I'm just a basic person, like everybody else!
    • My dreams are more vivid, and they reflect the life that I strive for: In my dreams I connect with people, have romantic and sexual encounters and do a lot of awesome stuff. I find that this affects my mindset in waking life, because lately I've been a lot more socially active. I'm asking people to hang out (in the past I was scared and paranoid about doing this, because I thought everyone hated me), I'm going to social events, like gigs and stuff – even if I don't know anyone there, etc.
    • I've noticed some muscle build-up (I work out and do martial arts regularly, and lately I've noticed that I'm getting stronger, faster and more skillful).
    So, I'm definitely on an upward spiral. Keep your hands outta your pants, comrades, and reap the benefits :)

    I have to agree on this post
    My social anxiety is much better now and don't think about what I'm about to say next
    And also with the vivid dreams, I don't know if this is with nofap or not (but I think it is), my dreams are also more lively and I can remember my dreams much better

    @ukkometso420 @Flossy Carter I think the vivid dreams come when you are more active, and doing differnet things, not always the same. You have more real-life-experiences, and during the night, the brain is processing them, which results in dreams.

    ^ Could be this. I read that dreams have a solid connection with your dopamine levels and the reward system: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/dream-catcher/201601/dopamine-and-dreams

    So it could make sense that when I'm getting more enjoyment from normal, less extreme things, my dream state is affected by it. When I was fapping heavily and watching porn, my reward system must have been going haywire with the constant insane dopamine levels, and now it could be returning to a more normal state.

    Awesome work! Inspiring story.

    I do notice that I have some of the same results as you when I abstain from PMO. I feel more grounded and better able to see the world for what it really is. My anxiety levels decrease and my mind is much calmer.

    Now that I'm almost 30 days into my reboot ( 28.5 days to be exact ), My dreams are more vivid and can easily remember them and I feel like I get more dreams (But I know that we dream almost every night but we totally forget the we dreamed).
    NoFap is Freaking amazing.

    Inspiration. Anxiety made me contemplate suicide countless times. I'm on day 11 (day 28 if you don't count a non porn MO). Even then with that one unintentional orgasm, I am feeling a lot more comfortable. Still working through it, but absolutely wayyyy better.

    All that PMO depresses your testosterone. Once that stops you return to your natural hunting mode. So you do and experience more things. You also discover new activities and get off your comfort zone. All the other things you have always been doing are "enhanced" and improved as well. It's all good.
