you need to REALLY read what i wrote. its about training in the beginning. also this is suggestion from Your Brain On Porn (i posted here in one of the messages, file attached with the page which talks about it from the book)

i used this technique in the beginning. now i don't even need it, i don't think about porn...mostly my wife makes me horny. i forget to think about porn.
try to dive deeper into this technique its a 1 page in Your Brain On porn. but the most powerful (i try obtaining totally..resisting porn, but it only makes the craving stronger)

and you guys giving tips about resisting and fighting porn. which makes everything harder, with more failings. you also come with your opinions.
while my opinion is back by Your Brain On Porn, your "bible"..
if you don't believe me...go read in the previous page, in one of the messages i posted a page from Your Brain On Porn talks exactly about this method.
Your Brain On Porn, is giving several method. obstain from porn and also watch porn (for a short time for training purposes).
Your Brain On Porn and generally this community is not science. its people who "did it" or "tried doing it" and writing their own opinions.
also Your Brain On Porn, is not an official experiement. he collected tons of messages of guys like us, and write them in the book..what works for them.

For sexual fetish addicts there is a general treatment by masturbating to the fetish but shortly before orgasm forcing yourself to think about a healthy sexual intercourse
(with your ex girlfriend, wife, real person you desire etc).
What would you say to the doctor giving this advice to his patient?
That this is all crap? That noFap is the only way to go?
That this guy could tell others about it and put their lives in danger?

Each and every one of us is different. The severity of our addiction differs.Only you will know whats the best for you, even if its by trial and error.

Me personally,i dont want to look at porn to convince myself that i could close the tab immediately without cravings or urges, because i already know that i can do it.
Not because i tried it,but because i FEEL it.
But i try to be open for different approaches.

OP said he allowed himself to MO at first (without P or fantasy) and then stopped because he wanted the benefits of not ejaculating.Like we all do.
But you say he is giving an ADVICE to watch porn (watching with cravings, staring at specific body parts, concentrating on them) and he is also giving the ADVICE to MO.
    Thats simply not true.

Nah, I am not aggressive,to me, you just seem unable to use your common sense on this thread and in this situation.
I don't like people playing social justice warrior when all they do is rambling pretty words and throw out random ethical sentences.

And in all honesty I have no need and no inclination to further waste my time with writing on this thread and arguing with people who get a kick out of it.

And it's childish to voice factual things as "judgemental". Saying the sky looks blue is so judgemental too.

Keep playing hypocrite, I wish you success with it. I don't really care. So have fun here and argue with people. I have better things to do.
Wish you all a nice day, keep strong and don't give in to PMO that's the most secure path you can take.

I understand cue exposure therapy. The idea is to train a different physiological response to a Cue.

The difference between drugs and porn, however, is that sexual arousal and lust is the reward…you are still giving your brain a nice hit of dopamine just by thinking or watching porn.

With a drug like cocaine, you don't actually get the award by looking at it.

If you are watching porn to the point of getting an erection, you are giving your brain a reward.

For porn addiction, I believe Cue exposure therapy is closer to the following:

    1. You see the sexy image on the screen, such as a sexy video on YouTube
    2. But you don't follow the urge to click on it and watch it

Every time you don't click on the sexy image, you have trained a new pattern, and the old pattern following it down the road of lust and arousal becomes weaker.

I think you were on to something with cue exposure therapy. It's one of the reasons I don't believe in filters. Guys that use filters are not training themselves to be around cues and not follow them But. …… If you watch porn to the point of getting an erection and becoming aroused, you have just provided the reward after exposure to a cue.

Sure, orgasm provides a bigger hit of dopamine then sexual arousal. But fake sexual arousal from porn is still giving your brain some of the drug it is addicted to

I know because I did exactly that about six months ago. I became addicted to just watching sexy videos and not even touching myself. Just sitting there with an erection for two hours looking at sexy images, And my health and ED became even worse.

So I believe the goal is … Zero dopamine from fake arousal or lust

I am not a fan of his technique neither.
But i think everyone of us should be allowed to share his or her experiences and attempts here on this forum.

what BURNS porn with dopamine is the orgasm. years and years of ograsms to porn.
if you do the training you will discover porn...is porn. its empty...really try it. for me porn now is more..dry. i get excited more about beauty, picture of a beautiful woman. usually i used to fap to usual porn..not about beauty. suddenly its pretty dry.
AND, if i get erection...i will stop. i will close immediately. use orgasmatron to relax myself. if you can watch beautiful woman in a relaxed way, simply enjoy..what is the problem ? not even naked woman. its like watching a beautiful mountain...nature picture. beauty is about mathematics of the brain anyway.

Ok. If you actually close your laptop before arousal, then yes, you sort are using Cue exposure therapy.

But you really need to go further back for the cue. What causes people to look at porn in the first place. The physiological urge for porn is the response to a Cue....the cue might be stress, it might be being home alone, it might be a memory of a porn actress.

But I disagree that you need to go all the way to orgasm for reward. I know because I tried that. Just sitting there with an an erection for a long time is providing plenty of pleasure and reward for your brain.

Like I said previously, I did this for months, I became super addicted to just watching porn or reading erotic material. And my ED go worse. I had rationalized that I could watch as long as I didn't M or O.....but this is wrong. It soaks your brain in dopamine even longer and I believe it is even more damaging than just a quick orgasm.

Yes... Orgasm provides a very large, short spike in dopamine. But just being sexually aroused for an extended period of time is also addictive, and slows progress. This is why guys do Hard Mode, so their dopamine receptors can have a break and heal.

This is an argument ad hominem.

You didn't mention anything factual, regardless, if you had studied neurology and knew how the brain actually works, you would know that the so-called "factual" effects on the porn on the brain are relative to other conditions, that make your so-called "fact" something relative, hence subjective when it comes to the observation of a third part (us, readers), therefore not as objective as you want to make it appear.

    Another argument ad hominem.

So, basically, you flee from the discussion because you don't have a counter argument.

That's fine, as fine as disagreeing, but when you call me a hypocrite because I disagree with you, you get on my nerves, and I take apart all your reasoning bit by bit.

And I'm not a hypocrite, so please don't have a nice day.
