    Anybody here practice yoga?

I've been doing a class once a week for 6 months now.
Once I was confident I started routines at home before my push ups.

I can't begin to explain the benefits of yoga.
I'm no longer as tense or rigid. Anxiety has gone way down.
Stomach and fatigue issues I was dealing with have vanished which all stemmed from anxiety imo.
My porn addiction played a part in all of this too.

It's been a gradual process but the last 2 months so many people have commented on my appearance. Saying how well I look from my body to my skin.
I still have a lot of personal issues to work through but I'm in a much better place.

If you've thought about starting just do it. Do yourself a favor

I've recently begun Yoga as well and I was wondering. Do you take a class where they show you the basics. I just went to a class at my gym, but I felt like I had no idea what I was doing.

    @Soap

I do a specific yoga at a hall.
I find the gym classes a bit generic for my liking. Can't stand that hot yoga crap.

I do Kundalini yoga which focuses on awareness, stretching, deep breathing and meditation.

    It's quite spiritual.
Not for everyone but it definitely suits me.

    It has helped so much.
After my first class I couldn't believe how I felt. All the tension and shit I was carrying was lifted.

Ever since then I've noticed gradual benefits. As you said magical curing and over all improved well being.
There's a reason they've been doing this for thousands of years.

I clicked on the panic button today because of Depression (I didn't had a name for it before I clicked that button)
these motivational videos and a quote from Ghandi (with whom I'm not able to hold a candle to) didn't help but then this came up:

After that I saw this thread called "Yoga". So I think it's a good idea to refresh my Yoga and meditation practice and do it right now.
Maybe later I will tell how it was :)

I guess Yoga is some form of meditation. But for the typical meditation you have to sit still for a long time. So the good thing with Yoga as a form of meditation: it has movements and figures to focus on but also pauses where you don't move. It's easier to practice Yoga than practice "doing nothing".
By the way there's also walking meditation...

This might be helpful for some as a method of quitting urges:
