I took a peek at porn, now what? Do I reset my counter? If I keep going I'll be on day 69. (69, haha)...I looked at porn, but I didn't get any reactions from my dick, not at all. I thought porn wasn't natural (not real sex, but animated as in staged), I actually found it to be fake and not arousing...considering the fact that people who work for the porn industry probably have messed up lives when they were teens...I didn't fap when I looked at it. I wanted to remain energetic and motivated. Well...I just find porn to be stupid! I'm never gonna peek again and look at porn again! Do I reset the counter if I took a peek?

hey man, who is judging? You make your own rules. The most important, for me, is you discover why you went to see...Only to check if you are strong?
Keep strong, man, and forget this sh*t.

I agree, you make your own rules. I've been there before, in my experience - taking a peak is a red flag. I can justify all I want but it's just my brain tricking me and making excuses. It usually ends up in a relapse within a week. I think you may be better off "resetting" while at the same time knowing in the back of your mind you have 68 days completed clean. You didnt MO which is good. It depends how you wanna look at things.

    This counts as a relapse
    As you intentionally watched pornography.

Taking a peek at porn doesnt reset your counter. Maybe if you flipped through videos for the next half hour I would say yes you should reset, but if like any of us that spend atleast an hour online, it's virtually impossible to not encounter some porn-subs. I had a pop-up come up right to chaturbate.com the other day, but I closed it immediately. My point is, you knew what you were doing would not help you achieve your goals, and you made the conscious choice to refrain. The finer details of rebooting are very convoluted, besides, I wouldn't take the advice from these pansy-ass bitches who likely spend each and every day putting the pussy on the pedestal. And with regard to the counter, don't count the days, make the days count.

I hate to say it man, but I think you should reset the counter. This is just my opinion and I know others may not agree. But don't let this justify a binge, take what you've learned and reapply it again with more resolve. This is how our brain tricks us telling us "just a little peek", quickly turning into, "well I fucked up now I might as well PMO", and then turning into the same old viscious cycle. Its a slippery slope, but now that you know how your head is going to try and justify it down the road, you know better how to avoid it. Don't take this as a bad thing. When we screw up it only gives us the lessons we need for making it further the next time, and in all honesty, it's a very minor mistake.

He intentionally searched for pornography. That's the most basic definition of a relapse.
We see pop-ups with p-subs occasionally but that's unintentional.

By the time he was about to look at porn he already was breathing heavily, heart racing, mind focused on porn. He relapsed the moment he said "I'm going to just take a peak" which translates to "fuck NoFap, I wanna watch porn".

The brain is just like a muscle. You could press 68 days until you reached your limit. Start again from 1 with the new goal of 69 days. Eventually you will build the strength of willpower to get to a year and beyond. See below...

    Overload Principle of Weight Training
Muscular strength is the most effectively developed when the muscle or muscle group is overloaded - that is, the muscle is exercised against resistance exceeding those normally encountered. If an individual is accustomed to bench pressing 150 pounds on a regular basis, then a resistance of 155 pounds or more is required for muscular strength and growth to occur. The use of resistance that overloads the muscle stimulates the physiological adaptations that lead to increased muscular strength and development.

    Be Strong My friend.

I think that it's a slip, not a relapse. It is a warning though that you could have relapsed. The danger is that if you start thinking it's a relapse then you could binge ("well I've relapsed anyway") whereas at the moment you have self contained the problem. It's equivalent to the alcoholic who has a sip of beer. It's really not ideal but please don't throw away everything you've worked on for one minor slip. Learn from it and keep going.

69 days is great, be proud of that. I've recently been in the same sort of situation and didn't reset my counter. I let myself peek once with no real reaction, similar to you, but then a few days later I looked again, and then again, and then... you need to do something to make sure you don't fall into that pattern. What are you going to do?

i looked at some adverts girls looking for guys to have sex with. there are some nude pics of course. does that caount as a relaps? is that bad for brain because of dopamine? i did not masturbate for 18 days now. i feel good. i sense difference in my skin. it feels like bulletproof. i have never had such a feeling before. it is not so sensitive for pain anymore. i also don't feel cold like i did before.

    stay strong my friends.
i learned not to count days but how i feel during those days. i have an app on my phone that counts days for me so i don't even pay attention to days anymore.

    @Ursamajor and @FapFapFapNoMore

    I'm with @RebootGalaxy and I'll explain why.

First to OP: yes you relapsed. Reset your counter. But be proud of your achievement and keep going. You just' can't keep counting days if you watched P to "test yourself" or whatever reason you made up.

Now to @Ursamajor, what you guys have to understand is that only watching it without doing nothing do not change anything. You can't look at it. Now, if you are doing a school research and some sexy ads pop up, then it's not a relapse. It's about blocking the path of your brain and the attitude you take.

What matters here is intention. If you wanted to see it, no matter what reason you made up (I know this too well, the brain plays tricks on us), it's a relapse. For example, I read a lot of books, and recently I was reading a short story. Then it started to become weird -- it was erotica! But it had nowhere on the title and I didn't check. I just closed the window and stopped reading. Had I continued, knowing that it was erotica, it would be a relapse.

It's hard but we'll be even prouder with a clean reboot. I've seen too much times this: "I have 203 days but I didn't notice anything different. I abstained from P but masturbated occasionally", or "I have a long streak, but I keep edging and I need to reset."

Don't look at porn guys. Nothing you can learn or test yourself from that.

It's in the eyes of the beholder. Searching through porn for 5 minutes and making the conscious decision to further abstain rather than jerk your meat until satiety to me is a sign of discipline, and you should pat yourself on the back for it. It's people like you on this forum that piss me off. You are not helping in any way, other than breeding negativity. You sound like the Sheldon Cooper of Nofap.

Everyone gets so fixated on the numbers. We are so fixated on chasing the goal that we forget the process and the achievement that it took to get there. Assuming the OP does take the advice and resets, he may well say "well if I'm going to reset then I might as well PMO". Then he has a PMO binge and is in a worse place than he is now. He might lose motivation to continue the process. All because of a slip and a number.

Sadly its the intent that is the killer. Saying 'I didn't mean to' is childish and weak. That's not meant as an insult we were all children once and have been weak or we wouldn't be here? Stand up as an adult, reset and begin again with a target to NoFap, not just beat your last one...

Exactly! Because 5 minutes of looking at porn is going to throw away 2 months of hard work, give me a fucking break. Don't knock people down, build them up.

Nahh, you are the only one who is childish and weak. I would say this isn't meant as an insult, but I would be lying.
