Am I the only one seeing this? There are tons of posts like "marriage 16747384974" - some random numbers at the end.

Presumably it's just several accounts spamming. It's frustrating because there's no official vBulletin add-on to limit the number of threads per user in a given time frame. You can block certain ip addresses, but if the individuals have any concept of proxies, and they're determined, then it's unlikely to make a difference. There are some unofficial plugins but I'm not sure how familiar Alex is with vBulletin. Whatever the case, as site admin, all the power is solely with him. Mods can only ban individual members I believe.

  3. Not a virus - just spammers. They manually register (we have a CAPCHA). Actively working to combat it.

Would it be possile to make it impossible to post a new thread with "+91" in the title?

I find this really strange. Who would want to do this? What do they derive from someone calling the number, is it one of those situations when one is charged by the minute? And why do they keep coming back to this particular forum??

I do like the idea of putting a block on someone who has posted too many messages because I feel like this is the only way to deal with a problem like this. They can always use other people's IP addresses and manually register.

Out of curiosity I googled the number in the posts and this person has been spamming TONS of forums. I thought somehow this forum was being singled out, but it's not the case.

I don't know what the capabilities of this forum are, but 2 options seem to be Scaramanga's suggestion above and an automatic suspending an account with too many posts in too short a period of time, which would remain suspended until a mod unlocks it. Obviously the spammer's accounts would not be unlocked and nonspammers would not have so many posts within a minute. And if it would be possible for the forum to temporarily remove posts of ppl whose accounts have been suspended, then the mods would not have to take any action.
