Hi NoFap community, I'm a new member and have recently been inspired to begin the nofap journey. I'm 27 and have recently split with my girlfriend of 3 years, since the break up some revelations have come to light that I previously didn't want to admit to. One of those being I'm addicted to masturbation and pornography. I've long rationalised it as normal/healthy etc. Its now clear though that the habit greatly distorts my judgement when it comes to relationships, choosing to enter/stay in a relationship because of the sex as opposed to a deeper connection. I really don't want to enter a new relationship with ejaculation being the primary concern. A clearer mind, greater openness, confidence and patience with a partner is what I believe I can achieve through NoFap having listened to and read your testimonies. Thanks for the inspiration thus far to take this step, I know it won't be easy but I know its the right decision. Thanks alot for all your honesty too, its refreshing and contagious.

    Cheers

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and not judge you.

What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Thanks D.J. im exercising more than i have done in a long while; a run once a week and short weight training sessions every couple of days. Am trying not to engage in reading about current affairs, cutting down on sugar and meditating. I spend alot of time on a pc alone doing a masters course so the temptation is never far away but feeling the pain/sadness that usually preceeds the urge is helping, plus seeing friends a bit more in the evenings... so a few strategies tbh, any recommendations? a journal perhaps? many thanks!

I have created a journal of hopefully helpful suggestions called In Case You Didn't Know. Check it out and see it helps you
