Quitting other unhealthy habits simultaneously a good idea?

Recover from PMO separately or supplement it by fighting other bad habits simultaneously?

  1. No prob, you got this bro!

  2. In my case I have several problems all being driven by the same lazy 'fuck it just do it' voice inside my head. Giving in to that voice is the problem. Have to stop feeding it. Cut the head of the snake.

    Hi,

For me the work with therapist was really helpful - she helped me identify my bad habit loops and triggers for them (porn, junk food, binge surfing etc.). IMHO investing a bit of time & money into investigating what's really going on in your brain is absolutely the step one in recovery process. ;) Otherwise you could end up banging your head against the wall...

I have gone cold turkey on the cigarettes again for the second time this year alongside the PMO thing... starting to affect my breathing! Will keep on puffing the cigars and pipe work as that is more of the flavour and experience aspect than anything else.. hanging on in there despite the all day horn.....

This may not work for everybody and for some people it SHOULD be cold turkey but I guess my other addiction is caffeine/energy drinks. Now one year I DID give it up for a year, but I was working less. I had creepy withdrawal symptoms but I did give it up for that year. But I took it when work got busy again. But this time, I'm cutting down by X number of cans a week, rather than cold turkey.
    YMMV.
For some, one habit at a time, for others, cold turkey.
