Quite an integral part in my relationship is sexting, sending explicit images and talking dirty on the telephone with my girlfriend.

Now, since I'm here posting on NoFap, I obviously want to make a change and cut down on my porn consumption - but does sexting etc count?

I understand it is a temptation, and almost always results in me breaking my streak - but as it is being done with a significant other, is it as unhealthy or as unrealistic as internet porn?

If you guys suggest that it is a bad thing, how do I continue this part of my relationship without upsetting my girlfriend?

    Yours,

    FF

I think it depends whether you're adding a spark to your relationship or whether you're getting the same excitement that you would get from porn. I dont see much of a problem if it's enriching your relationship and helping you be excited about one another. Just pay attention to your own inner reactions, I'd say. Just my view though.

In my mind what matters is, it results in breaking your streak.

    There's your answer.

If you want to continue and not upset her, find a way that it doesn't lead you to PMO. Use different apps, places, times, etc etc than you would for porn maybe.

I think the question you should be asking yourself is does it make it harder for you to not PMO? If the answer is yes, then you should strongly consider discontinuing it. I personally feel like sexting sort of separates the sex from the feeling of intimacy, which makes it more about the sex than the GF, but that is just my opinion. In any case you should just be honest with yourself and your feelings and then make your mind up and stick to it. Good luck.

Yep, youre just cutting out the middle man and making yourselves the porn actors.
A seamless transition the industry has groomed users towards.

Just keep in mind that it will probably lead you back to relapse. Sexting is degrading to your girlfriend's body, and your own. I kind of get the feeling it might be objectifying your girlfriend as well.
