    Hey everyone,

Just discovered NoFap this week. I've been masturbating since I was about 12 and haven't really gone more than a week without since (I'm 16 now). I've unofficially tried NoFap before for slightly over a week and noticed significant changes both psychologically and physically; after just a few days without masturbating I feel much less lethargic and am able to focus more easily - I also notice large changes in the way I interact with people and how I involve myself socially.

Anyway, I'm beginning the 90-day challenge (and hopefully longer), just introducing myself. Any tips/advice would be greatly appreciated and I wish you all the best of luck on your anti-fap crusades. :)

Hi Nomore. Welcome to the forums! Glad you are taking steps to break this addiction at your age. As far tips, I'm just starting on my journey, but here are a few suggestions that seemed to help a lot of people who have succeeded and have helped so far on mine.

    1. Keep a strong mind set. Don't fantasize, as fantasizing leads to urges.

    2. Create a clear goal of why you want to quit? It might be to be more confident about oneself, to have better relationships, to feel energetic. Set goals that are significant to you.

    3. Avoid triggers.

These three points are really helping me feel confident that I will break this addiction once and for all. I've been an addict for 12 years, but I never understood why I wanted to quit, moreso what it can do for you physically and mentally. This forum also gave me the inspiration and the will to push through whatever comes along the way.

I would encourage you to look at some of the success stories and try to find a few that relate to your situation. I would also recommend getting a PMO signature like mine, to keep track of the days, as well as keeping a journal, that you can go to when you feel any urges and write things down.

    Hope that helps.

    Good luck on your journey!

    All the best,

    Jimb0

I've had similar experiences very early on in my NoFap. After just 4 days I noticed a difference in social interactions; just a lot better focus overall. Looking forward to continue reaping the benefits.

It's good to get one of these things to track your progress.

Hey Jimb0, thanks for the tips - I'm sure they'll come in handy. My goal is overall self-improvement. After almost 24 hours of no porn I'm already feeling more motivated (the confidence boost tends to come a couple of days later) and I'm feeling urges less since I know I'm doing this for a reason, which is encouraging. Anyway, day one's going well (so far).

Thanks Hamza and Anonymouse, it's good to know there are people in this with me to provide support and keep me on track. I'll keep you updated on how I'm doing every couple of days (mostly for my benefit, but hopefully I'll be able to provide support for everyone else too).

    Day 3

Mild urges telling me to masturbate today - I've noticed that unless I keep myself occupied, my hand slowly drifts toward my genitals without me even noticing. While this is annoying, it reinforces the mindset that I'm making the right decision by quitting. Reading through journals and looking at what it is that makes people quit/relapse/succeed is helpful.

Remember: no matter how tempting a relapse may feel, no matter the magnitude of the satisfaction you could gain from one, it will never be worth it in the aftermath.

    Day 4

All good today, didn't really get a chance to consider the challenge as I was busy all day so no problems there. Started off with a maths exam (not exactly the most sexual experience of my life - having said that, dem simultaneous equations though, phwoooar) which was fairly uninteresting.

I have noticed myself noticing more females than I usually would, and I'm feeling elevated (I can't really think of a word to describe it), as though my senses have all ben heightened - as though before nofap my vision was impaired, but I have now been prescribed glasses; of course, this could easily be a placebo effect of having begun the challenge. every so often I'll have the urge to ram my dick up someone, but it's not particularly frequent. It feels natural, freeing in a way to be have the animal-like instinct to bang a female I may actually come across (or want to come across, if you catch my drift) as opposed to random pixels on a screen. I begun this challenge with the intention of quitting masturbation, but I think quitting porn simultaneously would be a bonus.

Anyway, it's late (and almost day 5 - only 95 more to go), so goodnight.
