Ah yes, this is the great thing with the availability of high speed porn is that it makes us have to totally give up objectifying. We cannot do this in moderation.

In the 60s when all you could get was porn mags when you were in the city and nobody else was with you. It was much more difficult to get access to such material. People were able to do it in moderation but the heavy objectification was starting to creep in as companies were starting to see that sex sells.

We have a choice now to come clean of treating each other as things. That is why we cannot just give up mo and continue watching porn as the porn has affected our minds and we need to detox from it to find a happier life. The good thing though is that we cannot do it in half measures. Welcome back to a world of freedom just like when you were a child.

 

The best examples of the harm of M is by reading the journals of Fapstronauts who do not care for P at all but MO is the struggle they have.

I've been off masturbation and porn for about 26 days now. Can't say that it hasn't felt good but PMO has corrupted my mind quite alot. I just saw a girl wearing a top without a bra and her tips were so pointy and sexy and I felt this instant sexual pressure and Immediately, my mind directed me to fap as a way to react to that stimulus but I didn't.
My point is, how do we handle this pressure, and how do normal guys feel in such an instance?
Mind you, I'll turn 21 in March and I've been fapping for about 5 years.. and I'm still a virgin. Smh

 

Moderation for those never having an addiction? If there once was an addiction, how does one control oneself from going from moderation to sliding back to addiction?

 

Welcome to the forum. You are so lucky to have found this at a young age. If you take up a little meditation just for 5 mins a day and look away the next time you see an attractive woman see what happens. Also taking up the nofap challenge will give you what is called superpowers which is linked to the experience you get when looking away. Best to do some meditation first just to get an idea of what you are looking for.

I was not talking about that. Independently if it's hard, easy, or impossible, for an addict or non-addict, i think if masturbation is done in moderation, i don't see any issues with it.

Now, if one can masturbate in moderation or not ( perhaps due to addiction ), that's a whole different story.

 

Why are you pro-masturbation? We see this differently and that's okay. I would like to know your point of view.

I'm just "not against it". I don't really see a "very good, ultimate reason to masturbate" , but i also don't see a "very good, ultimate reason not to masturbate", you know what i mean ?

But, since you are against masturbation ( I'm assuming ), maybe you can give me some links to read, or just your opinion

I do not believe that there has been any evidence uncovered so far which establishes that alcoholism is exactly the same as a masturbation addiction. (btw, I had a dreadful masturbation addiction for 30 years before I first ever saw any porn)! I am referring specifically to the generally help view that 'once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic'. In other words, there is no end point, no finite destination. Alcoholism is for life and one drink would render someone it's slave all over again! That may also be true of masturbation, but I am doubtful. Notwithstanding, the question by @D . J . still stands... I can only answer this from my personal perspective. But I feel that if I were to masturbate again, I would quickly be under it's sway all over again. Maybe not instantaneously (like an alcoholic i.e. one drink), but pretty damn quick!

Not really. Your view seems very noncommittal. Your initial comment was that you don't see anything wrong with it in moderation and you repeated that viewpoint but you're sharing you don't see an ultimate reason to do it but you don't see an ultimate reason not to do it but currently you aren't doing it.

Your initial comment would have have more sense to me had you said something like "I haven't made my mind up whether M should be done" or I have conflicting opinions about M".
Where you are now confuses me.

 

First, i said that i thought there was no problem with masturbation in moderation, which i still agree on.

Then, i said that i didn't find an ultimate purpose to do it, and not to do it ( maybe this came off a bit confusing ):

I'm in a neutral position towards masturbation.
If you want to do it, great, just do it in moderation. (again, i think you shouldn't when you have a PMO addiction )
If you don't want to do it, great.

I also don't see an ultimate reason for you not to paint a pink tree.

Your English was not in question but your view was. I was beginning to understand you were neutral in your opinion concerning M, the way you expressed your view was confusing.
