    i'm trying to quit porn and masturbation...i've been doing it since i was 8 years old and now im 27...i believe this have damaged my sex drive to the point in which is hard to sustain an erection while having sex.

    I heard that while doing reboot real sex is totally allowed, is it true?

    That's great you're going down this path and tap into the support and forums on this site to help you in your battle. Some people abstain from any sexual activity during the reboot, others alow themselves real sex. I am still having sex during my reboot although it is reduced in frequency. I'm married and so that's important to us. In my experience it doesn't interfere with the reboot except this thing called chaser effect afterwards. I and many others get this strongly a day or so after sex which intensifies the desire to orgasm and can make the battle a bit harder at that point, but other than that so what works for you. I would certainly say so all you can to keep away from all forms of self stimulation as this will slow you down. Set yourself timescale goals as well that are realistic, for example many of us are on a NoFap January goal.

    thanks for the feedback! i would like a good way to establish goals rather than how many days im clean, can you help me with this? maybe tell me how which goals have you used and stuff!

    Yup. I set myself time targets of two weeks, a month and then on to 90 days. Lapsed once in the 90 days and now on day 19. I've gone for no PMO but happy to have sex occasionally as needed in my relationship. The forum gives guidelines on rebooting and these are good but you have to do what works for you. I would say though that hands off and no porn are the basics. Strategies for avoidance that have worked for me: definitely blockers on devices. Work out your triger points and times of day when worse and once you've done that you can plan tocombat them. Things like when you wake up in the morning get out of bed. Don't just browse the Internet. Only use when you have to and give it up for a while except for essential stuff and do something else. Exercise is good, reading a book, study, being in the company of others. I find I'm best when distracted by busyness and maybe have work deadlines. You need to really desire to be free from this and the more you get to hate pmo the more resolve you will have. it is a question of building up your own defences and inner strength against it rather than relying long term on blockers . If I get a thought for P now I just say no to myself and the inner reserve kicks in. -m still tempted by MO though so still on the programme for that. If you have a life philosophy or faith of any sort that may help. My Christian faith has been a strength and motivation for me in this. Also if tempted just come onto this site and post. Get it out of your system in a journal in th journals section. This can be very releasing. Also reading others stories is helpful too. Hope this helps and best wishes for your journey

    Thanks for the guidelines bro! im in my day 14, last time i did around 28-30 days but that was like 2 monhts ago..after my relapsing i went back to bad habits and started the reboot again just this year, decided to get in touch with the community for support! lets make it happen :)

    I've been simply maintaining myself occupied, the other day i felt stressed and had to drink some alcohol...i know it's a bad strategy but for that day was just what i needed. Another great help has been to stay away from facebook as i discovered that some pictures i see in there from girls ended up triggering me (or arousing my need for fap during the day)...

    Im open to here any useful strategy so i can implement too
