I don't know the best way to introduce myself. I work from home, so I face a lot of distractions on a daily basis. I've decided to join because I'm tired of getting distracted by porn. It always starts with curiosity, then when the temptation hits, it's all downhill from there. After fapping, the guilt takes over followed by depression. It's a tiring process that keeps repeating itself, leaving me sad and hopeless, without any accomplished task that I can be proud of. I have realized that porn is destroying my productivity. It gives me pleasure, a reward that I never actually worked hard for. I don't like to get used to instant gratification and this kind of lifestyle. I want a way out. I want to get my pleasure and reward from something I've worked hard for. And this is why I'm here. Do any of you have similar experiences? How should I start this journey? Thanks

Hey man, welcome to the community!
As you said, porn is just a terrible cycle that works against us.
I can relate so much to your situation, and you're in the right place for this reason.
There are people who can understand and support you in your journey.

My advice is to identify your habit patterns and write down what triggers you.
I mean, it's likely that every single time you indulge in pornography there is
    a common denominator.
This will help you avoid situations, places and things that lead you to relapse.

Start right now, just quit. Life is way better without porn.
Develop your plan and change your life.
    Good luck!:)

I can relate to that very well: Procrastinating unpleseant or distressing tasks is a pattern of behaviour I am struggling with also. In my journal I had to address this issue more than once.

In my specific case, I additionally used one compulsive behaviour to apologize for the other, e.g. by saying: Once I will have gained the ability not to procrastinate, I will be less distressed and therefore will not have any need for PMO. Or: Once I will have stopped compulsive masturbation, I will have enough power and time to get my things done and not to procrastinate any more.

But this is nonsense of course. There is no need for any addiction in this life. We are free to decide for or against. So let us do what helps us living a happier life!

    You can make it!
