Bedtime Struggle

    I am 8 days into my journey and I know that bedtime will continue to be my biggest challenge. I'm sure many others can look back on their evening routine.. BOPO. Google it.

    Well -- my body and mind are used to it after masturbating to porn most nights for over 10 years. Right now things are manageable, but I do start thinking of possible rationalizations for just going for it.. Thinking it will become more difficult as I dive further into this -- this would probably be the time of day that I'd relapse.

    Can anyone share some tips, stories, words of wisdom?

    I think I am in the same boat as you. The same thing happens to me anytime I lay down to go to sleep, whether its bedtime or a nap. I almost caved today, but I thought about this counter and how I would have to reset it. Isn't that strange?

    Honestly since quitting PMO sleeping has been more difficult for me if I try to imagine sex.

    I've avoided physically edging throughout my nofap challenge but only since yesterday did I seriously try to stop imagining sex.

    I'm sure I struggle with this more than people I'm trying to live like through my nofap challenge.

    Though I've seen myself work harder during the day and sleep better at night whenever I stopped trying to imagine sex.

    I've got the same problem.

    Bed time or Nap time is pretty tough.
    I'm also fighting through it and I don't know how many time I've relapsed. But One thing that helped me is listening to rock music. Other thing I would say - mind set.

    Hey leslieknope,

    Never heard that one before. Since you are both mentally and physically used to exhausting yourself, through fapping, before sleep I would suggest you find a replacement activity that will serve the same purpose.

    I, like you, mostly fapped before bed, unless I was bingeing. Now I spend a lot, meaning too much I fear sometimes, hear reading and commenting on others questions and problems. While I have developed insomnia, to a point, as a symptom of withdrawal, I have yet to have a night where I got no sleep.

    So you can try that. Or go to the gym, or for a run just before bed too physically exhaust yourself. I think a substitution habit is your best short term solution. Then maybe you can wean yourself slowly off of that habit after you have fully rebooted so you reach the point where your general daily activities are enough that you can fall asleep with no additional effort.

    Good thing that you know when you are struggling!I suggest that you do push ups before you go to bed, in that way you will be exhousted to fap and probably more sleepy.
