If you have a android phone, you can install K9 software on it.

 

Throw it out and get a basic phone, like a nokia 3310. Problem solved.

 

I got a basic flip phone and once I got used to not having access to the 'net everywhere I went I didn't miss the smartphone. Seriously, smartphones haven't been around for all that long (though it feels as if they have been). You'll be fine without it.

As a middle ground get the Spin Browser. Combine it with the boomerang parental control app and choose the option to block all other browsers. The parental app costs $12/year after a two week trial. If you're happy enough with it then pay the fee and either forget the password or give it to someone else.
