Work on being someone who makes you happy not being with someone who makes you happy.

 

Could not be said better. If you want to be with someone who makes you happy, be happy alone. I know that sounds like a terrible thing to say, but if you commit yourself to doing things that you love (writing, playing music, sports, video games, ect.) and make those activities part of your life, always trying to be the best person you can be, you will not only be happier yourself, but will likely make others happy by osmosis. If you want to be in a relationship with someone who makes you happy, be sure to do everything in your power to make them happy first.

 

Sometimes it is really hard to move past these notions we have of relationships because we want certain things so bad. I know you really liked this girl since we had talked about her, but the guys commenting above are exactly right. Love finds us when we least expect it. I don't want to be trite, so I'll leave you with a quote that I feel says it all:
