I am an 18-year old male who has been trying (ever since) to entirely quit from watching porn and fapping. The longest period I abstained from porn and fapping was 20 straight days. I feel hopeless with my condition right now. I do recognize (and I am completely aware) that I am a porn addict and a compulsive fapper. The MAIN PROBLEM is that I don't really know how to entirely kill off this stupid desire or drive to watch porn and fap. (WHAT A STUPID BRAIN!) I REALLY WANT TO STOP THIS WHOLE WATCHING AND FAPPING THING, AS IT IS AFFECTING MY INTERACTION WITH OTHER PEOPLE, PARTICULARLY TOWARD WOMEN.

I've tried to stop but again and again I relapse.

I don't want to talk to my parents (or even our school counselor) about this thing, so I registered in this forum.

I am inspired by some success stories in NoFap and certainly I want to be successful in stopping this bad habit.

    PLEASE REPLY!!

If you don't have anything good or motivational to say, just keep it to yourself. What I need right now are tips (working methods or ways), suggestions, and advice from people who are successful and experienced enough in this matter.

ALL OF YOUR TIPS AND HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

PS: I was first exposed to porn when I was 8 or 9. (I don't even have any clue or idea that it I was watching porn). I started fapping by the age of 12. I think because I was exposed and desensitized to porn for so long that my brain is having a hard time letting go from it.

    Sincerely Yours,

    Hey SimpleMan17,

Greetings from a LONG-TIME fapper. I'd like to think I have words of wisdom for you, but just imagine this: being a slave to this addiction for THIRTY FIVE YEARS. That's clearly not what you want. So make the commitment.

I completely understand not wanting to talk to your parents or your counselor, but I sooooooo wish this addiction was talked about more. I think it would make a huge difference in the lives of young kids like yourself, who essentially have grown up with a fathomless pit of hardcore pornography at your fingertips. Did you ever get any 'real' sex education in school or outside of school? Because if we aren't talking about this very real threat to our sexuality in the year 2017, we are going to have a generation of addicts.

If there's any part of you that could work up the courage to share your struggle with your parents or the counselor, I'd say muster it up and take the chance: I could probably guarantee you'd get a sympathetic ear. And the strength in disclosure is a powerful, powerful thing.

In the meantime, read the forum, and plot your strategy to combat this beast. Good luck and stay strong.

You are trying too hard, man. Don't try to kill the desire or urges as none of us here have been able to do that. The technique is to go through the whole process and NOT reacting to whatever that comes in the way i.e urges, withdrawals, depression as these are temporary but very important part of nofap reboot.

Here's what I said to other guy who was struggling:
    1) Understand how pmo addiction works (visit yourbrainonporn.com).
    2) Understand that anxiety, depression may increase as you try to resist pmo urges.
    3) Understand that reboot goes the way it has to go and not the way we want it to go (this means it can take you to new lows instead of the highs that we always expect: the lows are temporary though).
    4) Understand that NoFap alone is not enough to improve life (exercising, meditation/praying, socializing etc are needed as well).
    5) Download a porn blocker k9 if necessary.
    6) Write a journal every morning and every night and mention your short term and long term goals in it.
    7) Take one day at a time.

    Goodluck!
