Haven't read something in a while and planning a trip to the library soon. I know what I want to read but not specifically so I was wondering if I could get some suggestions from the awesome Nofap community! Any suggestions for self improvement books? Us nofappers are all about that so I think this would be the perfect place to ask for recommendations. Also books that have morals? Talk about life? Life lessons? Are Philosophical? Deal with Humanity and feelings maybe? Deep books like these I'd also be interested in reading about. If anybody has good recommendations please if you could be kind enough to suggest them to me I'd really appreciate it guys :). Also don't know whether to post this in Self Improvement or Off Topic section so I decided to post here first :p.

Good on you to take up reading! It's definitely one of the best investments you can make in yourself. In no particular order are a few of my recommendations ( I know its numbered but they're all good and in different subject areas; I just like lists...)

    1. Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins is a pretty solid read.
    2. Waking up by Sam Harris examines spirituality without religion.
    3. The Wealthy Barber for personal finance and staying financially smart.
    4. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey is a great resource to become more productive.
    5. The Power of Discipline by Brian Tracy can help you stay committed to habits you choose to form.
    6. Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell examines how 10000 hours of work into any task can help you achieve mastery and how this has positions NHL players born in the first 4 months for success & how Bill Gates used this to start Microsoft

Good luck and I look forward to exploring suggestions that other posters put forth!

I'll echo everyone else about 7 Habits. If you take those, it helps you avoid addiction.

"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie.

Let me add here that I think people who really want to improve their lives are much better off picking one or two solid books, reading them and then applying the principles contained therein every day, rather than trying to read as many books as possible. A good rule of thumb is to spend two hours applying the concepts for every hour spent reading about them.

    Easier said than done.

    Get a King James Bible.

No, seriously. This document has had a huge impact on history. Some of those things you mention about philosophy and so forth are dealt with comprehensively! Not "new" or revised version, just the good old Authorized Version. Maybe you find God. Either way, you'll understand a lot more about people who claim that discovery.
