I don't want to. Something triggers me and I keep falling in the trap of watching them. It is very hard to resist. It is an ongoing cycle for 20 years now. I am tired and want to break this cycle and stop watching.

  4. Looks like you seriously want to change your life. Great! Any idea how it could happen?

Long time ago I wanted to loose weight. At this time I was eating too many sweets, especially chocolate. And I became fatter and fatter. Then I made a simple decision: From today on I will count the calories each day and I will reduce my sugar consumption. And reducing to me was putting on ZERO. And what was my first step? Don't buy any chocolate in the supermarket. Start eating vegetables and fruits.

I see your addiction in a similar way. Clean your PC with all the porn sites - never enter those sites again. You don't need them. And maybe make your own commitment that you will avoid watching those movies for a special period of time. Always do that tiny little step which you feel you are able to do. And afterwards do the next tiny little step. You registered here, you are highly motivated to get rid of your addiction - and I see all chances that you will make it. Start today!

April showers bring May flowers. Don't watch porn in April (do whatever it takes!) and reap the benefits in May:) It's simple but not easy.

There are numerous tools that can help with not going to porn sites. You can use alternate DNS servers that block your device or router from accessing porn. You can install filters on your devices. You can install accountability software that notifies a partner of your attempts to access porn.

Yeah, I was gonna add about the blockers too.
For me, it's not the ONLY thing that makes me wanna do it but it's helped me get rid of the worst website I used to go on to and made it harder to get to the others.
I have Cold Turkey and The Web Blocker on my computer and I set my phone up too (through settings) but most people here seem to find K9 helpful. These are all programs you can google to block porn (for me it wasn't porn but certain OTHER sites.) By the way, I have an Arabic speaking accountability partner AP, who is Muslim and keen to help other Muslims including those who speak Arabic. If he's still active with all this, let me know if this is something you'd find helpful.

Where to start this question is already answered? You came to the right place. Now you have to identify your triggers and urges. That too will become clear when you start your NoFap journey, as days will pass you will be able to do that I think. See for starters just open up yourself a little bit without jeopardizing your privacy. Elaborate yourself means like previoulsy how you were addicted, your circumstances, your triggers if you have been able to identify those, etc. In this way fellow Fapstronauts here would get a better picture of you and guide you accordingly. You start your journey and maintain a journal wherever you think your are comfortable like in a notebook and you can maintain it here. Look upon others and devise your ways out as we all are here for the same problem but we all are different. So tailor make your ways. You can look upon your age specific group for starters. You can check these two posts by @D . J . https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/in-case-you-didnt-know.84619/ and https://www.nofap.com/forum/index.php?threads/more-you-may-not-know.95737/.

Hope that I have been able to give you an idea about How to start?

Also check these two videos, these are very good.

If you have them saved on your computer, have you deleted them yet? I recommend doing it now, while you know you are having a difficult time. 1) It will give you a morale boost knowing you made a choice to end your addiction 2) You don't want a temptation flare later on if you I'm advertantly come across it, such as when restoring backups from another computer.

I had to delete my 20+ year collection, and it was hard. Some of the files I knew would now be difficult to replace because sites shutdown. Others felt like they were part of my history (some were from when I was in high school). But once I deleted them, I felt a lot better about myself. If you have to, run them through a secure deletion program so you can't recover the files. They have to be gone completely.

Thanks for all the replies. If I make it to the morning it will be 8 days away from porn. Tonight is hard to stay away. Triggering thoughts have been going on in my mind for sometime. I'm trying to resist and that's why I came back here. How can I resist? How to continue to stay away?

A good thing to do is to remind yourself your reasons for doing this.
Also, if possible, keep busy to help distract yourself.
