I keep seeing postings by regular users of this site with "no pmo" or "no pm" counts under 20 days. Usually its 5-6 days. what does it mean if all of us in "reboot" are all in the single digits in terms of recovery, perpetually. Are we just stuck in a continuous cycle that is self-perpetuating? I realize I am not much better in terms of my numbers, but it is a little disconcerting.

Some of it has to do with those who have low counts are probably asking more questions. Also, once someone feels they are recovered, they are less likely to feel they need to use the site, unless they relapse.

PMO is also an insidious addiction. It will eat away at you, but it won't kill you, and it's easy to hide. It makes it difficult to defeat.

I see your point. I just worry that in some situations you can have an addiction community of addicts on a continuous relapse reboot cycle all encouraging each other to think it's normal to keep relapsing. I've seen that with drug and alcohol addiction.

My experience is a year of struggle but as you see it does not equal a year of streak, which does not equal reboot in my opinion. But it's my viewpoint that has altered and now I see a streak (16 days now I suppose) and overall progress to be two separate beings.

I was not active day by day during that time. There were times where I wanted to share something or find some tips, no matter if on a streak or not. However, I see that when you build up significant number on your counter you feel more stable ground beneath you, and you feel less dependent on this forum. I guess I came back because for me 2 weeks barrier is always the time when I cringe and bite for survival.

I also think a danger for some on this site is equating p and m. P is much worse and m is not even inherently harmful. Also the idea of semen retention giving special abilities and powers sounds dangerously unscientific and irrational.

  7. I will only share my personal experience so far.

No P has increased my libido, I used to look at women passing by in the street and think they were hot, among other thoughts, but I wasn't as excited as I am now when I see them. When you look at P every day for many years your sensitivity goes down and unless you are seeing something really hardcore there's no real reaction in you.

No M has given me more energy, I wake up in the morning and jump right out of the bed, before I couldn't even wake up until I overslept. I do more now with my time since it's not wasted on hours of browsing porn. My voice has gotten deeper, and I'm feeling more manly, energetic and a bit cocky is not a sign of increased testosterone I don't know what is.

No O is the thing I can't test until after the reboot, since I won't know if I'll be cured from my delayed ejaculation. I will say this though, when I get those hot moments where I might have an erection, or, morning wood if you will. I feel like I'm about to orgasm. I know how that feels since I've masturbated for two decades, and I've never felt like I'm about to orgasm without even touching my genitals, so if I feel this way by a mild arousal moment, I can't even imagine what it be like to be with someone and actually have sex. I feel confident after my reboot I'll be able to orgasm just fine.

The no PMO counter serves me as a reminder of where I came from and where I am. It motivates me every day to see a new number added, like I'm on a marathon and I keep running an extra mile. The more I see on that counter the more I want to continue. If I didn't account for the days I've been without PMO I'd probably wouldn't care if I relapse, since I wouldn't know how long I've been without PMO and it probably would feel like "Not long ago." and despite my counter not being as high as users who have been way longer than me, I feel it's been a really long, difficult journey so far, but in this little time it's changed me a lot.

I used to not be able to keep my hands to myself when I got aroused now I can just feel aroused and do nothing about it. I just let it pass and keep walking, it's not controlling me no matter how strong the urge is. If that's not progress I don't know what is.

I just signed up and was a bit disappointed to see so many low counts. But then I thought about how much I've struggled with this before I signed up. I'd give it up for a few days or a week only to fall back into it. And as you point out it is just too easy to do.

For those of us with internet access, which is anyone here, we can get porn any moment of the day. We don't have to drive to some seedy store to get our fix.

It is also essentially free. We can be dirt poor and still get it.

We can also encounter strong triggers in just typical daily life. If you use the internet at all websites, even good websites, can have photos or ads that trigger us. If you watch TV the amount of sexual talk, which could be a trigger, is amazing. Heck even going to the grocery store can be a trigger given what so many women wear today.

I think in many ways this can be one of the hardest things to conquer. I'd love to see more high numbers because I want all of us to beat this. But I understand how hard it is and how so much of the world is working against us.

I have found that at least seeing some of the success stories, make me feel it is at least possible. "if they can do it, so can I..."

There is definitely a point to be made that spending time on here thinking about "no-porn" is still in some way thinking about porn. So I check in every once in a while, but I'm not making a habit of hanging around here.
