    depends on your state before and after the stimulus, and it depends on why you are drawn to that activity repeatedly

    if youre in a low state and the stimulus gets you to normal state, then its a crutch and your brain rewards you for 'relieving pain' by releasing dopamine to get you to keep coming back to it = addiction

    drugs - dont need to be explained, pretty obvious

    watching youtube, tv, movies etc for hours - usually this is an escape from reality to numb your brain. but it depends on what youre watching. watching 3 hrs of skateboarding fails is not the same as instructional videos to learn skills for your job for example..

    food - this is also about your before and after state. if youre depressed and eating makes you feel better, stop eating those things for your reboot and do something productive. if youre in a happy state and eating healthy food gives you energy and fuels your brain and body and takes you to a better state, go for it. sugar is just bad no matter what, cut it out. atleast refined sugar

    music - its hard to imagine music being bad, but again it depends on how you use it. if youre laying in bed for hours with your headphones, maybe not so good, another form of escape. if its getting you charged up in the gym to lift an extra rep on each set...


    its not a clear cut good-bad with these things. youve got to see how its affecting your mind and your life. if youre not completely sure, experiment. stop it for a while and see the effect.
