Hey guys right now I'm about 5 months and 4 days in and I still cannot function properly in social situations while at work...hell...even when I'm not at work it has continued to put a delay on my life. I was wondering should I go back to meds just for a little while??? so that i may function while working. I will not M or watch porn but I need something to get me through so many of these embarrassing days so I keep away from suicidal thoughts...sorry this took a dark turn but I need advice badly until I start seeing permanent benefits. I just want to be normal again.

Hey man, take a deep breath. There is nothing wrong with seeing a doc and going on meds. Don't let societies harsh opinions stop you from something that will improve your life. Your more normal then your probably think you are. Life is hard.

On the suicidal thoughts part, remember all of life's problem are temporary, suicide is permanent and hurts so many people.

My uncle killed himself, then my cousin sunk into a depression, starting using heroin and died a few years later. Had my uncle got help both of them would be alive.

As long as we are talking about seeking medications from a doctor, there's no problem with that (esp. for depression) at any point, reboot or not. It's like the old joke, "I don't have an alcohol problem, I have an alcohol solution!" PMO isn't the only issue in life, we were likely using it as a coping mechanism for things. If you struggle with depression (whether or not it is withdrawal related), treating it is acceptable. If it's only being caused by the withdrawals, that's great. Once you're through the worst of it, your doc and you should be able to take you off of them. If there are other issues, you'll have time to work through them too.

Congratulation 5 months and 4 days, you're doing great!
I have dealt with anxiety and depression and have been on and off of meds a few times. I know how times can get hard and sometimes we need help, wither it be medication, therapy or just supportive friends and family. I know I used PMO for self medication as I"m sure a lot of other do as well till we find our self trapped in this habit and never solving the real issues.
Go back on the medication if you think it will help. I know they come with there own problems. But maybe they can get you to the point where you can figure out the real problem and deal with that.

    and again 157 days man!
If you can get that far there is not a whole lot that can hold you back from getting what you want.

Awesome comment thank you! And yes I too used pmo as a crutch something to pick me up when I'm down. Didn't realize it was a habit Nor addiction until I began NoFap.

The other question is, do you have other addictions? Because it will affect the reboot. I am giving up something else with PMO and it has made a big difference in my life; if I only gave up the PMO then maybe I would be having continued symptoms from the other addiction.

Depression as diagnosed by a doctor is a medical condition like any other. It's not an emotional or psychological problem at its root, although the effects and treatment are closely linked with emotions and the psyche. In order to address the psychological and emotional effects, you have to get the chemistry under control. That's what the medications are for. Many of the issues that seem like causes (I struggle with an addiction, say, and that makes me depressed) are actually effects (I have depression, which makes me susceptible to addiction). So getting the brain chemistry back in balance actually can solve a lot of the issues.

I'm neither a doctor nor psychologist, but this has been my own experience of depression and its effects. Medications can achieve a world of good, when you get the right one for the right condition. It changed my life completely for the best.
