How do you keep yourself away from porn? I obviously don't have a clue what I'm doing.

The only thing I can think of to keep myself off it is to use the computer less, meditate more. But my homework is on the computer for my college class, so I'm kind of having a crisis. I did porn this morning right after I posted in the log section of the forums. So what do I do? I'm being absolutely consumed by sensuality (self pleasure). I don't know how to fight this. I just want to know what it's like to be free from this.

If you can't stay away from porn on your own, install a porn blocker. Ultimately you are not supposed to rely on it, but it is a useful tool especially at the beginning of your streak.

You say use computer less, meditate more - those are two great steps in abstaining from porn. Especially meditation is useful, at least in my experience.

Have a fulfilling discipline, i.e. something that will yield sustainable benefits in the future, and do it every day, no excuses. I take cold showers and do 100 pushups a day. It's a great way to transmit your newly acquired energy into something productive and beneficial. Another great thing is that when you see yourself neglecting your fulfilling disciplines, it's an early sign that you are heading for a relapse, which gives you some time to correct your behaviour.

    Thanks.

  4. You have to figure out why you watch porn. How does it make you feel? What don't you want to feel? What are you running away from?

If you get to the root of your addiction, it will be a lot easier to overwin this.

    Good luck brother!

I agree. A help of a trained psychotherapist may prove beneficial in this area.
