About Edging

    I already know that edging is harmfull durning the rebooting period. What i want to know is how much does it set you back in your progress. Lets say if you have abstained from PMO for about 5 days, and then you happen to edge WHITOUT climaxing. Does this set you back to square one, or do you still have some momentum and progress? I think that edging shoots far less Dopamine into the brain than a real orgasm, so it souldn't be a big deal. I'll be thankfull to anyone who replies.

    I feel like if your addiction is cocaine, and you usually snort 1 gram a week and you're use to that... snorting 1/10 of a gram a week is clinging on to that addiction for dear life. Just my opinion. I personally do not edge.

    I'm afraid your question doesn't come from you at all. Your question is coming from the addicted part of yourself. The only bit that actually comes from your true self is

    You are in conflict - you know the truth, your addiction is telling you lies to weaken you. Hopefully the advice people have given will help you. But also, learn to identify what is your true voice and what is your addiction looking for anyway to justify not being completely eradicated.

    Edging always eventually leads to masturbation with orgasm. Your edging isn't completely stopping your progress, but unless you stop now, you'll be on the road to a reset.

    I saw something about this spreadsheet thing on a different site. Looks great and is a great tool for those struggling at the beginning.

    To me edging has been like an alcoholic holding a bottle of whisky, screwing off the top and watching it. Your brain tried to tell you it will be enough just to edge but it just starts you down the road of going to O or finding P.

    I have the same problem with looking at SFW non-porn stuff "out of curiosity". I know what it will end with but I ignore that voice in my head and do it anyway. And usually within a day or two, what do you know, I've MO'd or worst PMO'd!

    Focus on the little first steps, the things you might not be poking up on that could be what's tripping you up and making you start to edge.

    Not saying it's easy cos it's really not but in my opinion edging will hinder you, not help you in the long run

    This happened to me too. Huffington Post of all things (I won't go into specifics - too triggery). But I thought looking at stimulating SFW stuff was ok - and that slowly led to non-contact edging, then edging, then 2 months of serious relapse.

    Edge and you're dead!
