No use in fighting it. I've accepted my fate of being a porn addict because I was born to be.

That's a lie. The urge to reproduce. The need for air, food, water. Organs. These are things you're born with. A porn addiction is something you developed after indulging in what feels nice.. It's like an alcohol addict saying the same.

There are indeed babies born addicted to opioids, alcohol, or other substances. It's impossible to be born with a behavioral addiction. Even so, there is research suggesting that there are certain genetic dispositions to addiction, but they are hardly a foregone conclusion.

So try to let that idea go: at 17, there are decades of growth ahead of you. You won't even recognize yourself by the time you're 25. And it will get a lot better after 20. 17 is still an unsettled time, and you just sort of have to hunker down and keep moving forward. I know it's hard. Hang in.

Dude, no one is born a porn addict.

  7. I would consider this "Denial" of oneself and also to "Believe" in oneself. If you accept that you are a porn addict and forever be a porn addict, then that is what you will be.

However, you can ultimately choose who you want to become through the process of motivation, commitment, a Desire to become free from the porn addiction.

I admit I am not a professional as to what will help you but it will slowly start to cripple your relationships with family and friends. Also, with future colleges and relationships as well. I have experienced the same as you. Don't accept, fight it. You are capable.

You're like a robot who has not yet become sentient. Something will click someday.

Keep posting away. I will never get tired of hearing your struggle. Totally normal to struggle like you are. Also totally normal to be frustrated with people like us saying "you are wrong, you need to start thinking differently". The thoughts are ruminating in your head.

You post a thread like this to defend your position that all is lost, but you can't do that without knowing that someone will say, no, you can be helped. There is something in you, you may not even recognize it. A cry for help. If all you can do is present these walls of defense, then continue. A crack will emerge at some point.
