HOW TO Give Up masturbating?

    Can anyone pls yell me how to quit masturbating .i have tried a lot to give it up but the results are not long lasting.pls anyone tell me how to give it up pls.

    You just breathe, my friend, breathe. I am going to assume here that your real problem is not masturbation itself, it is the obsessive sexual thoughts and fantasies that produce arousal and the body's desire to release the tension. This is what works, this is what will change your life if you apply it and apply it seriously. When a sexual thought pops up in your mind, you command STOP either in your mind or aloud, and you immediately focus on your breathing and put all of your attention there, breathe, breathe, become present, feel where your body is, feel where you are sitting, look at your environment, and now give this time, breathe, allow the thought and energy/hormones to dissipate, they will, trust me, they cannot exist if you do not support them. Understand, thinking about sex or porn is like rubbing two sticks together, it will create a fire and your body cannot understand the difference between imaginary and real sex, it will want to release, right? Breathe, allow the fire to extinguish itself - mindfulness. Practice this seriously. Good luck.

    While the method suggested above is nice and all, I don't think it's very helpful. This video gives good insight on the subject, and is more effective.

    Pretty cool video, it mirrored the method I suggested - mindfulness. Mindfulness is all about being aware of the thoughts and feelings one is experiencing, and understanding actually how these thoughts and feelings are being produced to begin with, and then with awareness, breathing and presense, allowing the thoughts and feelings to dissipate. It is an interesting exercise to actually sit there with the thoughts and feelings and just watch it dissipate in a small amount of time (5-10 minutes), and then start thinking about it again and watch the energy be produced all over again and then allow it to dissipate once more.

    My method included several things:
    1) Learning all the bad things that M does to you, and finding as much as possible reasons to stop doing it (well basically the worst things were that you can even die early etc.)
    2) Motivation is the second key (the first point can help getting motivated a lot)
    3) Finding your own triggers and avoiding them.
    4) You have to brute force your way to days 20 - 30, so that you gain some control over your urges.
    5) Don't count edging as relapse till day 20 or 30 (the earlier the better, but you have to be ready).

    You really have to want give it up. God and his Son can help you too, He freed me from P in one day (never watched P again since ~01.06.2014). I got into M because of stupidity of those blue ball stories :mad:
