I am so sick and tired of suffering from addictions. I am done with PM and abstaining from sex until marriage. I do not want this to control me.

So you plan to abstain till marriage? May I ask why you have chosen this?

Welcome to NoFap! Let me just say that it's an amazing, warm, non-judgmental community that you will grow to love :)

So, first of all, I advise you to develop three points towards your NoFap journey:

    1. Why are you here?
    2. Why do you want to quit PMO?
    3. What do you want to achieve by the end of it all?

Establishing reasons to quit NoFap and working out goals for the end of it will really help you to push forward through NoFap. Sadly, I just dived in around a year ago and, well as my counter shows, I'm not getting anywhere any time soon.

Also, know that this won't be easy. You WILL get bad days. You WILL relapse. You WILL hate yourself sometimes. But, this is completely normal, and actually healthy. Every single one of us (except from a stupidly small minority) goes through really tough times on this journey, but these tough times show us our weaknesses and triggers, and help to strengthen us for next time (providing you are willing to put the effort in to improve yourself).

Remember that it's not just as simple as never PMO'ing again. It will take effort to improve yourself and divert your focuses away from porn and towards more important, healthy things in your life.

Another thing is that for many people, NoFap isn't entirely about quitting porn and masturbation. For many people, this journey is about improving their lifestyle and becoming happy with who they are. For example, since starting this journey, I have gone from sitting on my laptop all day every day with nothing else in life to walking 30km a week.

I'm not saying you need to walk 30km a week, but you will find yourself looking for other hobbies. It's VERY important to have hobbies in this process as it provides distraction and a place to go when you are in times of need.

Anyway, that's about everything. Last thing I will advise you to do is browse the forums daily and post regularly, whether it be your own topics or on somebody else's thread, because it gives you that extra bit of connection to the NoFap community, and your bond with the process will grow much stronger if you dedicate time to it.

Good luck! Hope you do better than I am!
