I think the worst part of a flatline is the numbed emotions.

I want to be able to enjoy a movie. I use to enjoy TV shows and movies but for some reason, I can't. I don't know if that has something to do with my down-regulated dopamine receptors from porn use abuse? What do you think?

I've felt the numbness during a reboot, but I've also had a hard time feeling the highs throughout my life when I would PMO. I used to tell people I had a hard time feeling emotions, good or bad. After PMO for so many years, your emotions will just flatline in general.

At least with a reboot, things will eventually get better. Keep at it!

When you go through NoFap you will experience a whole assortment of moods, it seems to vary from person to person and depends on the severity of the addiction but yes it is because of the dopamine receptors rewiring themselves. Its nothing to worry about and should be used as a way of getting in touch with the real you, the you not twisted by years of PMO.

I just wish I was able to actually follow the quotes advice lol, ironically the thing that pushes me back to relapse again and again is partially the fear that I'm making no progress.

That's why I responded with the sleeper quote. I often feel like a part of me is sleeping/hidden because of PMO. If I want to realize my true potential, the sleeper must awaken. That will only happen without PMO.

Just keep working toward the goal. We'll both get there, eventually. Even a relapse can be used to help your next challenge if you just keep trying to get 1 extra day further than the last time.

Yeah I defnitely feel like PMO is just one of the ways I run away from my true self, youre right though, even failure can be helpful in the long run.

Even when I wasn't rebooting, I flatlined. My emotions and as well as my dick. It's like I've been flatlining this whole time. Now I start since August 1st, ready to take it on.

Just keep swimming... just keep swimming.

(Sorry, I have a toddler and Disney has trumped all other movie reference quotes)

Anyone else feel like music doesn't affect their numbed emotions and one of the few times where you feel more joy? Or am I wrong? It's one of the few activities that I can get into during a flatline.

Yeah I can listen to music regardless of where I am with NoFap, I wonder why that is.

Music has always been largely based on emotion. As such it carries a power to it that helps transcend numbness and allows an individual to feel.

The emotions can also vary depending on the music, so if you feel numb, always try to listen to music that is upbeat and lifting, as opposed to music that is dark and depressing.
